Viceroy put out a short report on Abaxx $ABXX, saying that ‘the Exchange is comprised of wash-traded churn sustained by incentives, which collapses the moment incentives are switched off.’ Abaxx’s CEO Crumb is apparently saying ‘thank you’, buying shares in the market almost every day over the past week.

Stockbridge is one of the best examples of applying a private equity mindset in public markets. It lives inside PE firm Berkshire Partners, and its founder bought TransDigm right after the 2006 IPO in the mid-$20s. It's $1,200 today, up ~145x. Here's the story:

Just shows how valuable Cogent‘s assets are. The first re-rate will happen when 2027 notes get refinanced (no more bs risk). Second re-rate will happen when more DCs get sold. Third re-rate will happen when (high margin) wavelength revenue goes vertical (just like in the case of LITE). Cherry on top would be a buyout offer, big customer deal etc.

$ROL almost in a 50% drawdown here. They will do $1.50 in FCF/share this year so even after this collapse, it is still 25x growing HSD from here. Not super exciting but what were people thinking buying this at >50x FCF?

@ACapitalLP $CCOI Easy 2-3x+ in next twelve months and potential for anything between 5-10x in next 24 months. About to complete it‘s monthly W2 and enter W3. If it‘s not acquired before for a juicy premium.

@KEDM_COM finance.biggo.com/news/6f98e997-… Nvidia plans to spend to $10 billion (~50 to 100 billion yuan) over the next three years to aggressively acquire "dark fiber"—optical fiber that was laid but never activated by controlling the physical transport layer.

Cogent $CCOI has suffered a drawdown of more than 75%, with revenue declines, cash burn, and a 98% dividend cut, pushing the stock into full turnaround territory despite its structural exposure to AI driven bandwidth demand. In response, the Board has granted CEO Dave Schaeffer a one time 1,000,000 share performance award, vesting on a 60 day VWAP ladder at $70 / $85 / $100 (4–5× from the current ~$18 base), with half of the shares only vesting at 100 and a five year window through 2031. The BoD is all in on a Schaeffer led Sprint integration, AI and data center driven growth, and a deleveraging strategy.

@calvinfroedge Just curious - are you suggesting a long position in BAK equity here (assume you bought higher)? These businesses will remain challenged post-Hormuz

The current Braskem proposal is that the company will receive a grace period and reduced coupon payments as well as maturity extensions. This proposal was also rejected by creditors. IG4 and Petrobras are fighting hard for shareholders.

A coin from the Dutch East Indies Company. Three centuries ago, the most valuable company in the world. Hasn't existed for 226 years. Whole lot of the S&P500 going to follow that trajectory.

@_riskFULL I discussed $ABAXX directly w him and his people in '23, imo its possible that today's growth, volumes would have made an $ABAXX investor out of him and his firm.

The late great Murray Stahl of $frmo / $hkhc who had a deep understanding of exchange businesses, how they develop and grow, an investor in $miax long before it went public - did not think abaxx was a questionable business and felt it was worth watching. He had first hand experience watching several exchanges grow and knew the dynamics of growing liquidity.

"The debasement trade is getting a bit dead," JPMorgan's Chandan said. As long as we've had the Federal Reserve (nearly 113 years), the debasement trade has been very much alive as the Fed central planners always cave to the politicians' pressures to debase. Sometimes (such as now) there are periods where it might appear they're tough on inflation (such as when a new Fed chairman has to establish his bona fides). Nevertheless, we can count on more debasement - especially after asset bubbles break - and the bubble we're in today is a doozy. finance.yahoo.com/markets/curren…

Ackman views $MSFT as having an "impossible to disrupt" position in enterprise software. The base Microsoft 365 package has 450M users at a very low cost per seat, roughly $200 per customer. It would be nearly impossible for an enterprise to replace these various components with 3P vendors, even at twice the price. Microsoft Copilot gives enterprise employees a secure way to access AI tools without putting the company at risk of extreme cloud computing bills or exposing proprietary data.
