Today, our radical partisan US Supreme Court did just what we said they would do. They gutted the Voting Rights Act of 1965 that allowed for better, more diverse legislative bodies across our country. We have to fight back for the people of Illinois.

I used to live in this Louisiana district; I’ve seen up close how hard people fight to have their voices heard and their votes count. That’s what makes this moment hit even harder. And we’re going to use every tool we have to make sure the promise of equal access to the ballot isn’t something we talk about in the past tense, but something we protect and expand right now. I think the City of Chicago comptroller just said that most health records for City first responders are still on paper? How is that even possible in 2026?!?! Great that they are moving to digital (apparently) records but half City's insured workers are still on paper records?
