Very fruitful visit to Pakistan, whose good offices and brotherly efforts to bring back peace to our region we very much value. Shared Iran's position concerning workable framework to permanently end the war on Iran. Have yet to see if the U.S. is truly serious about diplomacy.

Deputy Prime Minister / Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar @MIshaqDar50 received British High Commissioner Jane Marriott @JaneMariottUK today. They discussed the evolving regional situation. DPM/FM underscored Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to facilitate engagement and emphasised the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in peaceful resolution of disputes. The British High Commissioner appreciated and supported Pakistan’s facilitative role in bringing the U.S. and Iran on the negotiating table.

Just spoke with Prime Minister @CMShehbaz of Pakistan. I congratulated him on his efforts in facilitating the ceasefire between Iran and the United States. I assured him of Austria’s full support for a diplomatic solution to end the war. Freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with international law must be ensured. I welcome the recent engagements between Afghan and Pakistani negotiating teams and encourage continued dialogue toward a comprehensive solution. Dialogue remains the only path to de-escalation and lasting peace.

Representatives of #China, #Pakistan and #Afghanistan held week-long informal talks in Urumqi, Xinjiang from April 1 to 7. The delegations of the three sides include representatives from authorities in charge of foreign affairs, defense and security. The Afghan and Pakistani sides reiterated that they follow the purposes and spirit of the UN Charter and the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, stay committed to resolving differences as soon as possible, work for the turnaround of Afghanistan-Pakistan relations, and agree to refrain from actions that may escalate or complicate the situation. The two sides commended and thanked China for the mediation effort and thoughtful arrangement as the host country of the talks. They also expressed appreciation for China’s fair and just position and utmost effort. The three sides agreed to discuss a comprehensive plan to resolve issues in the relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan, and identified the core and priority issues. All sides believed that the Urumqi process is substantive, and agreed to maintain communication and dialogue.

I am happy to report that Rathoa Haryam bridge in AJK, which had become a white elephant, I took it as a challenge after PDM government came and is now connected and will be soon functional with some minor remaining works completed. It will be inaugurated by PM Shehbaz Sharif.
