I think if we zoom out we might see it a bit differently.
Trump is quietly positioning the US to be the world’s energy superpower again.
For decades these regimes made real negotiation impossible. They wouldn’t let our civilizations live peacefully side by side.
They wouldn’t deal in good faith so here we are still policing the world because if we don’t who the hell will?
America First doesn’t mean isolation. It means strength so we don’t get pushed around anymore.
Anyone else seeing the long game on energy and global leverage instead of just the daily noise?

A sweeping analysis of nearly 46 million adult health records has delivered a clear verdict: COVID-19 vaccination sharply lowers the risk of heart attacks and strokes, directly refuting persistent claims to the contrary. Published in Nature Communications, the study followed people across England from December 2020 through January 2022. It documented a 10% drop in serious arterial blood clots (including heart attacks and strokes) after the first dose alone. Protection strengthened further with subsequent doses: a 20% reduction among those fully vaccinated with Pfizer/BioNTech and a striking 27% reduction for AstraZeneca recipients. The researchers were upfront about rare side effects—myocarditis and certain clotting disorders—that can occur shortly after vaccination, but stressed these remain exceptionally uncommon. By comparison, catching COVID-19 itself dramatically raised the odds of major cardiovascular events. I just got off the phone with someone who works in defense policy in Washington. What they told me should end every "Trump is reckless" argument permanently.
"Every single president since Clinton received the same intelligence briefing on Iran's nuclear timeline. Every single one was told the window was closing. Every single one chose to kick it down the road because the political cost of acting was higher than the political cost of waiting."
Trump got the same briefing. 60kg of 90% enriched uranium. 4 weeks to breakout. Material for 2 bombs.
He chose to act knowing it would tank his approval to 35%.
He chose to act knowing his own base would split.
He chose to act knowing NATO allies would refuse to help.
He chose to act knowing gas prices would spike.
A senior analyst I know at a major think tank put it this way: "The difference between Trump and every president before him isn't intelligence. They all had the same data. The difference is courage."
Read that again.

Just had the chance to read Trump's speech from last night & it reads as one of the best he's ever given.
Put aside the usual Trumpian bluster & domestic hyperbole - that's baked in the cake. The speech was clear, cogent, & direct. It described our rationale, our objectives, & our broad plans moving forward. This is what you want from a wartime leader. I wish it happened 3 weeks ago, but better late than never.
It did pretty much everything the critics wanted, but I'm sure they'll find plenty to get mad about anyways. 🤷♂️
