I remember when I was young how when you bought shoes, there was some guy that came up to you and your mom and asked what you were looking for. They’d measure your feet. They’d bring out a half dozen boxes, you’d try them on. He’d put a little plastic spacer in behind your heal to measure how much space you had to grow into them.
I’m sad when I think of the death of personal service in the consumer world that made shopping feel like an experience.
***and I hate how crappy people dress at airport these days… I’d burn every pair of pajama pants ever worn in public.

@heartsabustin @dantypo I think ours was Bruno. My
Mom didn’t even say we were going to Stride Right. We were going to see Bruno.
English

@dantypo Our guy was Mr. Raymond. Sold us everything from my Buster Browns to my first pair of heels.

Ren and Chris Webby have put together a beautiful song celebrating those we’ve lost.

@WolverinePhins @chadfelixg Awww, are your feelings hurt because I don’t buy into your victimhood? Poor little guy. I’ll leave this tantrum throwing friend for you while I go make six figures and plan my next vacation.

@kateinva @chadfelixg Welp, if you actually had any critical thinking, you could actually see how much of the country and its history is rooted in racist viewspoints and how its only beneficial to the white male patriarchy. I mean if you take time out from sucking their dicks and begging for scraps.

@LiLa__lee18 @AmeliaHammy My 50th birthday party was HP themed. I like what I like.

@AmeliaHammy I have a Harry Potter tattoo so I’m absolutely mentally ill.

It’s no secret I love Disney.
That being said, I really don’t understand why adults who enjoy Disney get so much ridicule.
Is there an age cutoff for having fun? Once I hit adulthood was I supposed to hate rides and amusement parks?
Do most people realize that many of the rides are thrill rides and not geared towards small children?
I had a blast at Disney as a child, as a mother with my children, and now as an adult.
For the people who care so deeply about this, why? It’s harmless fun.
Mir@mirsblog
@RichJWidmann Disney Adults are the most pathetic crop of humans. Reeks of immaturity and incompetence.
English

@WolverinePhins @chadfelixg You seem a little unhinged. If you can’t fathom any reason for people to favor different policies than you do other than ZOMG THEY HATE EVERYONE!, you might not be great at critical thinking.
English

@chadfelixg White ppl are literally preventing universal health care, fair wages, and a good economy RIGHT NOW because they hate all brown ppl and women and your dumbass is asking how this is happening still. They are literally killing themselves and not procreating to stop this!

Friends in Wisconsin, I hope you don’t patronize this place.
@FBI and @SecretService you may need to pay a little visit.
How do we coexist with this?
Who thinks this is reasonable behavior???

@grout21270 @upstatefederlst My parents had some hilarious records. That’s where I first learned The Woodpecker Song (Billy Mitchell version).
English

@upstatefederlst We also listened to our parent's record collections. The idea that you should only consume the latest media release is one promoted by the corporations pushing product.

People out here acting like 80s and 90s kids regularly watched movies from the 50s and 60s.
John Attridge@John_Attridge
Film literacy among young people is at an all time low. My gen z students are shockingly unfamiliar with many key landmarks of modern cinema that were released in the 1990s
English

@nkozyra @grout21270 @upstatefederlst Several years ago there was a film student who got roasted online because she wrote a review for Murder on the Orient Express clearly without any knowledge of the book or earlier film. She complained about the lack of Asian cast in a film called ‘Orient Express’.
English

@grout21270 @upstatefederlst This isn't it.
Media was a scarcity at that time. It was inaccessible or expensive to both create and consume.
Not the case today.
Either way, generalizing that "kids today" don't do what previous generations did is a consistent and reliable platitude.
English

@upstatefederlst I was partial to the 1930s & 1940s, personally. The Thin Man. The Philadelphia Story. Jane Eyre (Orson Welles version). The Wizard of Oz.

(quietly) I really liked the escape room but that's probably b/c my coworkers are fun and cool
Troy Osinoff 🕺@yo
No, your employees don’t want to go to an escape room Just go to a bar and open a tab
English

@GovPressOffice I don’t think you understand what ‘free’ means. Taxpayers understand very well what it means when leftists think something is ‘free’.
English

Oh no — next comes free preschool, free school meals, higher wages, and tuition-free community college.
Truly terrifying stuff.

My wife collapsed in our hotel room in New York today
“Call an ambulance, I can’t breathe” she was screaming
My heart dropped
If she ends up in an American hospital we are financially ruined
I went on the Lufthansa app to book a flight back to Frankfurt, but unfortunately pilots are on strike today
“Please I’m begging you” she was lying on the floor
I sighed and called 911
She is now in surgery as apparently her appendix “almost burst”
I am extremely scared
This is going to cost us at least $100,000
She could have received much better care, for free, in Germany
I will never visit this barbaric country ever again

UPDATE: Chris Ostroushko says that the backlash his family has been receiving for their actions last weekend has been “overwhelming” and “nonstop”
He’s now “second guessing” living in the United States, because he’s unhappy with how negatively the public has reacted to him assaulting a woman on camera.
He is in complete disbelief, stating that, "I've never had anything like this happen in my life".
Chris and Deyanna have been going on a press tour continuing to assert that they are the real victims, despite millions watching the footage of them instigating everything.
There is also a GoFundMe for them, where they are currently trying to raise $8k, stating that they’ve lost their jobs and, “are facing one of the most overwhelming and life-altering moments they have ever experienced”.
The family has still taken zero accountability for any of the violence they committed and are in complete shock that they are facing consequences for their actions.
Last week Chris also did an interview where he lied, stating that his family is “absolutely not violent" and that all he did was "stay back and watch" everything, despite being on camera shoving me multiple times.
