epic review rant time: Max Caulfield carries Double Exposure, she looks great and Hannah Telle's performance is amazing as always. She shines throughout the entire game. Some more positives: the graphics and environments are really good, I'd like to see the concept art for this game it probably looks awesome. The voice acting and facial animations were really good. I liked Amanda. Gwen was a badass and Moses was a bro, good characters overall. The soundtrack is okay - but compared to all other lis games which all have near 10/10 soundtracks, it could've been better. Now for the negatives... you might not agree with me and that's fine, these are all just my opinions. This is from someone who's been a Life is Strange fan since 2017 and active in the community for almost as long. I want to love this game. minor spoilers ahead (no more than I've already shared): I think the story is terrible. I don't even know how to describe the story. It hooked me initially, the concept of solving a murder mystery through two timelines is a cool idea and I think it had so much potential but it just went nowhere. There are so many things left unresolved. It felt like the game just... ended. I rather liked Alderman as a villain-ish character, so I was annoyed that he disappeared early on. The way he was handled is a big negative. There are some great scenes in the game, some in ep 3 and early 4 come to mind. But late ep 4 and then ep 5 just got worse and worse... The villain's motivation never made sense to me. The ending copied so much from Life is Strange 1. If you haven't played lis 1, at least one scene towards the end will make no sense to you. Even though I loved playing as Max again this story doesn't make sense with her character. She's learned nothing from the first game and keeps using her powers irresponsibly. And don't get me started on Chloe Price who also kept getting mischaracterized. She never once showed up in the game. I've talked about this so much already but this game could've been so much better with her in it. It would have respected those who chose to keep her alive. Everything they did with Chloe was an insult. Moving on. A two week early access (and cat DLC) for $80 is another big negative. The cat DLC is about 3 scenes where you get to pet a cat. enough said. There are so many nitpicky things I could talk about but I don't like how they are handling this franchise, between bad practices and bad stories. Please let me buy this IP lmao I was considering a 4 but I give it a 5/10
