@bcpbem @TheChaosWeeber Right and we never change the constitution. (Wait Quebec and Newfoundland did when they recognized it was wrong to fund only one religion and not others) and tell that to Jews who don’t get public funds for their schools.

@StNickRespecter @CanadianOracle9 @TheChaosWeeber You don’t think Jews or Protestants pay taxes? Yet their religious schools don’t get public funding. Why do you want special treatment for Catholics and no other religions? That is a two tiered school system.

We can 100% criticize how the Libs, specifically @brucefanjoy ran a fear campaign in his riding, telling people they were all going to lose their jobs if they voted for Poilievre, only to turn around and do what they said Poilievre would do. It’s called hypocrisy.
Marc Lévesque@MarcLevesqueEco

You can’t simultaneously criticize Trudeau for having excessively grown the size of public service and then, criticize Carney for reducing it. This shows just how unserious these types are.

@MarcLevesqueEco @StaceyMonette27 @brucefanjoy Why can’t you be happy with what carney is doing with public service while disappointed that fanjoy lied to constituents? Perhaps Liberals could be honest. Might be tough I know but still a reasonable goal

@MarcLevesqueEco @StaceyMonette27 @brucefanjoy For me, it’s not about incr or decr the size of the public service. I want good programs, delivered efficiently & effectively, & I want the auditor to be able to say “good job”. I’m assuming advances in tech are part of the reason for decr size.

Harrision "And you know that CRA is relentless in their ability to come and collect from Canadians, yet it seems the ability to enforce shoddy immigration laws, everybody was asleep at the switch in terms of examining these cases of fraud." "So that breeds... skepticism around the value of these programs." "And there's more than a domestic impact here to how this has been handled. We're in the middle of the CUSMA review. " "The US has been very clear about issues that they have around the integrity of, of our border, the integrity of our immigration programs." "...At some point, there needs to be some accountability for how poorly this was managed over the course of the last four or five years or more." @KatlynHarrison

@journo_dale @prairiecentrist Yet nothing about fraud being ignored by Liberal government? Nothing? You keep the opposition to the fire and ignore Liberal incompetence.

The Auditor General finds massive fraud in the foreign student program. Carney is a no show in the house and the two of the three leaders who's heads should roll respond with ad hominems against the leader of the opposition.... And the Liberal House Leader MacKinnon "We will stand up every day and be proud of the liberal track record in standing up for Canada and building Canada." Three successive Ministers of Immigration proud of fraud? Things you can get away with when you pay the media
cbcwatcher@cbcwatcher

JP Tasker to Audior-General Karen Hogue: "Perhaps the most troubling aspect of it for me is that the department may be turning or may have turned a blind eye to fraud." "You identified 800 cases of outright fraud, and the department you found did not consider acting in any of those instances." "What does that say about how Ottawa is handling this file?" And at CBC, it’s always just “Ottawa” or “the department.” Never a decade of Liberal Immigration Ministers responsible: Ahmed Hussen, Marco Mendicino, Sean Fraser, and Marc Miller. Could CBC not reach any of them for comment?

@prairiecentrist And let's not forget that it was Conservatives that made us weak by making us dependent on the US. Have they heard of Brian Mulroney?

The Conservative argument is that Liberals have made us weak by making us more dependent on the US. They then proceed to tell Canadians why we should double down on the US.

Canadian PM Carney visited PM Takaichi in Tokyo, treated his host with respect, and signed a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Japan. Trump sat with Takaichi in the White House, blathered like an imbecile about Pearl Harbor, and damaged U.S. relations with Japan.

Look, the courts need to sort this out. I was personally worried about the invocation (failure t o act by police vs inability to act), but it doesn't matter what you or I feel. The Canadian people need an answer about when use of these laws is appropriate. It isn't a conspiracy.
Andrew Lawton@AndrewLawton

Mark Carney‘s “new government“ is standing by Justin Trudeau‘s unconstitutional invocation of the Emergencies Act. He and Sean Fraser are appealing it to the Supreme Court. theglobeandmail.com/canada/article…

@GottabeKD1267 @prairiecentrist Then why did Carney government wait until the very last minute to decide. Why not make the comments that it is the right thing to do a long time ago?

@prairiecentrist Exactly what this court was designed to do. In their decision, they’ll give reasoning for the changes - but I’m 💯% sure, there will be changes, primarily in the form of updating the Act. It needs to happen.
