Dear client asking about Roth conversion: OBBBA adds complexity with a new deduction for seniors on top of considerations around tax brackets, taxable social security and Medicare premium surcharges. It is a delicate dance to find the sweet spot on that. But-come at me, AI!

Happy Monday. I am down 20 lbs since this March 2023. I think it has much to do with scheduling tax prep. 2023 is the first year we started scheduling tax prep. I work regular hours year round so I have time to exercise and meal prep. I’m living a healthier life now. 🙌🏻 I did fall off the wagon in early 2025 after my Dad passed, but I’m back on track and very thankful I have time to take care of myself.

@BrianDavisTax I just started using TaxDome'as Tax Return Delivery. It's pretty nice. But doesn't solve the problem of clients wanting changes after it's delivered. I think of it as part of the process. I want them to review their returns, preferably before they sign.

What is your all's workflow for how you "finish" a tax return? I've been sending an email that says here is the tax return, here are a few notes, let me know if you have any questions... but what i really want to do is just send the return and be done with it.

Is it weird that a prospect asked if they could pay me via check? I offer ACH and credit card. Or should I just shut up and take the money? I don’t have any clients that pay via check.

@cordes_tax @LoganGrafTax There was somebody on here - and i forget who this was - but somebody had a description of a client and then said a fee for a situation like that would be $ xxxxx. And then another description of a different client with a fee of $ yyyyy. I thought that was a good way to do it

@RepMattHall The state doesn't asses property taxes, the local government does and Republicans after supposed to be in favor of keeping the state out of local government.

We are going to ELIMINATE the state property tax. Completely.
This will be the biggest tax reform in Michigan's history and it’s putting money back in the hands of the people who earned it.
And we’re going to FORCE utility companies to CUT rates by $1 BILLION.
That means over $1100 a year will be back in the pocket of the average household.

@khayden5 @IshDtax This one specifically about 6 wks. However…I had taken and passed it before about 15 yrs ago, did the CFP and PFS end of 2024 (that took 6 months), and just did the SIE in December. I have also worked 11 yrs in financial services so a LOT of the rules and terms I already knew.

Because I am completely nuts, took and passed the series 7 today. Yes, on March 1st. (Also, gentle reminder that I was able to do this because I schedule out our tax work💪🏻🤓) #TaxTwitter

@IshDtax TBD. “Dating” (ie taking baby steps to work together) a broker/dealer/ria shop to see if we will collab and to what extent. Thats who sponsored the 7. May ultimately decide to solo-shop it but we shall see!
