Many of #TVK MLAs have a long association with Vijay through Vijay Makkal Iyakkam. They have been into grassroots outreach through VMI (which mimicked a political party structure although smaller in scale) since their late teenage and Vijay has been constantly meeting them as well. This generalised underestimation only cost many their seats. Check ECR Saravanan or Vijay Dhamo for example, they have a super long history with Vijay. Such is the case for many others too.
