Would you give up your window seat on a plane to a fellow passenger with a cat if asked, just so the cat could look out the window? For the cat's sake.

@neheritagelib It would make a great pub. Although I'm not a huge fan of "spoons" they do have a history of repurposing quirky buildings. Thinking of Harrogate and what they did there. Much rather that than oops there's been a fire and now it has to be knocked down!

Possibly the saddest listed building in Newcastle, sat in limbo until its eventual demise given there's nothing to repurpose it into. 😔 I've written up a piece on the Gibson Street Baths - free to read on Patreon as it's a bit too long for over here. Link below

@Helen_Fields To kill a mocking bird, the highlight of o level English lit. I still read it 40 odd years later. Life of pi and the curious incident of the dog in the night

Need your help, BookTwitter. I'm running a National Year of Reading event for to 14-18 yr olds. Name one book that at around that age lit up your imagination. Audiobooks, graphic novels, short stories - all welcome. Stories that will set them on fire and make them want to read. I'm looking for books to rave about for the simple joy of reading, so not really the classics that they might be asked to read as past of the syllabus. Go...

@kitching_adele It's for making potato ridges on the smaller farms that couldn't support a mare/donkey/plough, meant they could also plant right into the corners.

Don’t you just hate it when you bump into a mate while walking the dog and he insists on buying you a belated birthday beer? 😬🍺🍺 Lord Ralphington is zorsted for the second time today. 🙄😴 #LazyLurcher

@ThrimbyFarms The field opposite my grandparents cottage was used as the nursery field each year. We spent hours watching lambs playtime. Such simple joy for the lambs and us!

I’m sure we could charge people to watch lambs. These guys without fail get together every day and play. They race, they skip, they jump and their mums just roll their eyes. It’s great to see, especially on a nice spring evening like we have had. It will soon be time for these guys to head back to the high fells for summer.

After a truly pawfect adventuring day I have to tell you that at 7.15pm this evening I have crossed rainbow bridge and am now no longer battling this hideous cancer. Thank you for being the greatest pals not only to me but my totally heartbroken Tina and Lee 💔

@PC_Reed 100%! The voice of trusted reason speaks. There's no case to answer here, guy was doing his job, one that very few of us would do, & doing it correctly keeping himself & others safe. Great to hear from you Phil, we miss you & the 🐴 on here. Hope you are well.

If I was a Policeman trying to stop a marauding terrorist stabbing innocents in the throat, I’d use WHATEVER force needed to neutralise him. Better to be judged after the event by 12 of my peers, than carried to church by 6 of my friends.
