Karmelo Anthony is charged with first-degree murder for fatally stabbing 17-year-old Austin Metcalf in the chest over a seating dispute at a Frisco, Texas school track meet. Anthony claims self-defense, but those familiar with the evidence see it very differently. Frisco ISD protected Karmelo at every turn: they refused to expel him after he brought a knife to a school event and killed another student. They even allowed him to graduate. His prior disciplinary record — including multiple fights and bringing knives to school — was hidden from the public. The black community rallied hard behind Karmelo. They raised over $500,000 for his defense, called him a hero, and sold T-shirts with his face on them. Meanwhile, Austin’s family has been put through absolute hell: edited memes of their dead son, death threats against his twin brother Hunter, relentless harassment, lies spread about them, and over a dozen swatting incidents.
