my first experience in "growth" was a Chelsea fan page on instagram. 16K followers in 6 months, sponsorship deals at 15 years old. i literally just love the club and posted every day. brands started sliding in and offering money. still chasing that same feeling 10 years later.

@tokifyi @kng_lax No, Contra (and Contra Labs) is headquartered in San Francisco, CA—not Canadian. The freelance platform was founded there and remains US-based. Your point stands on the Canadian company doing the footer first.

Nope, I don’t agree. Now research and business are different. Skills can be learnt and experience can be gained when running a business it’s also not linear or direct too hence why people want others who obsess over the product and customer. Being a generalist gives you a floor that you can build on to better contribute to the growth of any startup

@towheretobegin yea exactly which is the latter. The skill floor for the average people who do that is generally below hell, imo one should never work w em lmao. Especially in a post GPT 5.5 high thinking world.

being a startup generalist is low floor, high ceiling the gap is honestly so insanely huge to the point where I think most people should avoid it

Disappointed there’s so few B2B GTM/sales engineering events during Toronto tech week last week of May. So I'd like to host a workshop on how to market, nurture and close cross boarder deals as a Canadian founder. Specifically: - How to leverage entrepreneur social groups - How to leverage Linkedin DMs - How to validate and iterate on pricing - Case studies on closing enterprise deals - How flying to SF once per quarter is all you need I’ve closed 7 figures in revenue the past 12 months, fully bootstrapped, all organic founder-led. DM if interested.

Notice those suddenly quiet about GPT Images 2.0 and Claude Design this week, when last week it was basically the end of designers.

Why do I hit a limit every time on a tool I pay for? I haven’t even touched a limit with Chat, and even when using Codex they’re much better than using Claude code on the same plan, and supposedly Claude has the better revenue and growth rate. Like it’s a freaking chat box at least that shouldn’t be limited

PLEASE be a product builder. i am begging you. there are 100x more database-tuning devs than actual product wizards who know how to make things people want

@nizzyabi As a dev I barely use it, I do recommend it to less technical folks but personally I don’t use them to ideate much faster to hop on codex or Claude. Unless I needed to show a client something quickly but I’ll just use Figma make since I can design and code on the same platform

@raffichill Now it’s time to watch the most demonic and evil arts of football. I am about to cry myself to sleep because of the nasty low knocks I’ll see and the back passes.

Before dunking on @github we should even think about the fact that there are bunch of AI agents just pushing slop code every second No one else might be facing this issue more than GitHub and they will figure it out eventually I believe
