In 2026, I'd like to know exactly how cursive handwriting is "a fundamental skill." I'm being 100 percent serious. Is there a study? Data? Something that supports such a claim?

When it comes to letting our kids be kids, let’s get back to the basics — and that starts in our schools. That’s why I signed a bipartisan bill that will ensure cursive handwriting — a fundamental skill — is taught in all Pennsylvania public schools. It’s also why I’ve called on the state legislature to pass legislation requiring schools to implement a bell-to-bell ban on cell phones so that our kids can spend more time interacting face-to-face, instead of on their phones. We have to look out for our kids’ future — let’s get it done.

My colleagues and I went to brunch and we spent around $600 on our meal. To appreciate our waiter we gave her $60 tip. We saw her facial expression changed when she saw the amount. She went from happy and all smiles to sour and unappreciative. She accepted the tip, but we could tell she wasn't happy about it. Idk what else we could have done. We thought we were doing something generous, but I guess she may have expected more. We gave what we could afford.
