A newspaper closely aligned with Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides has called for the removal of the TRNC flag from the Beşparmak Mountains as a so-called “confidence-building measure.” The proposal came through an editorial in Fileleftheros, which claimed the flag should be erased from the mountains. The flag exists because Turkish Cypriots exist.
