@JMay1771 @Kpascuch True, but if kratom is banned, they can't sue and destroy a whole book of business. Other than Matt Wetherington in GA, I haven't seen a lot of evidence of trail lawyers behind legislation. Bans are driven by families surviving a kratom death. The rest is conspiracy fantasy.

@Kpascuch @kratomfactcheck It’s called ‘negligence per se’ when a personal injury or wrongful death case based upon liability gets a lot easier to prove in a court case, because the lawmakers have criminalized something, therefore a certain degree of negligence and liability has already been legislated.

Every 'addiction counselor' I meet sounds like they're reading from the same script that someone provided, and it always ignores the health problems caused by suboxone which are far worse than those from kratom.

@Heaven807436108 Actually not true. Ban states (purple) did better than KCPA states in reducing kratom associated harms in this study. KCPA = lobbyist written, industry self regulation. Utah's new approach or Montana's proposed Kratom PD 1.1 bill are better than KCPAs. doi.org/10.1111/add.70…

Because it is like saying ignore 1K annual bike deaths because there are 40K auto fatalities in US. Most booze comes from plants & drinking is lowest level in 90 years. So no, a massive industry isn't going to get a pass because of logical fallacies like appealing to nature, etc.

Most of the time it is bad faith to avoid the topic of kratom's harms. Competitive risk is appropriate at times.
