I wish to sound a voice of warning to this people. I solemnly declare that this spiritual kingdom of faith will move forward with or without each of us individually. No unhallowed hand can stay the growth of the Church nor prevent fulfillment of its mission. Any of us can be left behind, drawn away by the seductive voices of secularism and materialism. To sustain faith, each of us must be humble and compassionate, kind and generous to the poor and the needy. Faith is further sustained by daily doses of spirituality that come to us as we kneel in prayer. It begins with us as individuals and extends to our families, who need to be solidified in righteousness. Honesty, decency, integrity, and morality are all necessary ingredients of our faith and will provide sanctuary for our souls. - James E Faust

I used to think personal revelation was mostly for big life decisions — like where to live, what job to take, or who to marry. Over time I’ve learned it’s actually much more ordinary than that. It’s how the Lord keeps me on the covenant path every single day. Most of the time it comes as small impressions. A thought to reach out to someone. A feeling that I should slow down and pray before making a decision. A quiet nudge to apologize or be more patient. Sometimes it’s gentle course corrections. I’ll feel uneasy about something that looks fine on the surface, or I’ll suddenly have clarity about a situation I’ve been wrestling with. And sometimes it’s just quiet reassurance. When I’m discouraged or carrying something heavy, I’ll feel the Spirit remind me that I’m not alone and that Christ is aware of me. The more I act on these small impressions, the more clearly I recognize them. It’s become one of the most practical ways I experience the reality of the Restoration in my daily life. God still speaks. Not just through prophets, but to His children — including me. That truth has changed how I approach every day.

Saints… again just a reminder your religion is opposed to Marxism. Marxism is explicitly anti Christ. To say otherwise exposes only ignorance or dishonesty. And I say this as someone who has studied Marx in depth.

Pioneer Day is in six days. Just remember that your ancestors crossed thirteen hundred miles of nothing, burying their loved ones along the way, to carve a better life out of the desert for their posterity. We should be incredibly grateful to them.

Church News this week, July 12-18 The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has reached a new record of 88,500 full-time missionaries serving worldwide. The new historic total surpasses the previous high of 88,000, set in 2014. Church leaders attribute the surge to the first wave of 18-year-old sister missionaries entering the field. The missionary force is comprised of teaching and service missionaries and senior missionaries. The milestone also comes as the Church opened 55 new missions on July 1. Speaking of missionaries, a new mural at the Provo Missionary Training Center recognizes the Church’s first single sister missionaries and inspires current missionaries. The first single sister missionaries — Inez Knight and Jennie Brimhall — reached England in 1898, with the new mural depicting their service. Walking past it at the MTC includes those who are making history as the new wave of sister missionaries going out at age 18. The Church recently released site locations for three temples in South America — Medellín, Colombia; Goiânia, Brazil; and Campo Grande, Brazil. The Church has also released a rendering of the new Spanish Fork Utah Temple. It was the last of the 15 temples announced in April 2025 by President Russell M. Nelson in his final general conference address. After becoming the first baptized member of the Church in the Democratic Republic of the Congo 40 years ago, President Junior Banza is returning to the country as a mission president of the Democratic Republic of the Congo Kinshasa North Mission. President Banza was baptized in 1986 — at 14-years-old — after the Church was officially recognized by the country. He says of returning to the DR Congo: “The Lord has given me a front-row seat to His biggest miracle.” Inside a refugee camp in Kenya, a new branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is growing in numbers. What started out as just six members, the branch has grown to over 100 in a year. Most people came to the camp after fleeing conflict or insecurity in their countries. And they now meet each Sunday to worship and find strength in Jesus Christ together.

Some doctors are closing practices to new patients. • Only 2.5 hospital beds per 1,000 people — well below the OECD average. Hallway medicine is routine. Patients die on stretchers. Her line hits hard: “We want universal healthcare… until we learn.” She’s not wrong. Canada’s single-payer model gives coverage on paper but delivers rationing by queue in practice. Long waits aren’t a bug — they’re the feature when government controls supply and prices. America’s system is also broken: crushing costs, administrative bloat, and real gaps for the uninsured or underinsured. We spend nearly twice as much per person and still have problems. The solution isn’t importing Canada’s waiting rooms. It’s fixing supply (train more doctors/nurses, cut red tape), adding real competition and price transparency, expanding HSAs/direct primary care, and protecting innovation. Be informed before you trade one set of problems for another.

It's been a couple of days since my last update about life in America. 🇺🇸 As many of you know, I've been battling the flu. I'm definitely starting to feel better, but I still have a terrible cough, a sore throat, and my voice is still a little raspy. 😅 Don't worry though, I'm keeping myself hydrated and well stocked with medicine and should be back to normal soon. Yesterday we shared our Amazon wishlist, and I honestly can't believe what happened. Y'all blessed our family beyond anything we ever expected. ❤️ Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We'll probably keep adding a few things as we remember what we still need to set up our home, but please don't ever feel obligated to contribute. Your prayers mean just as much to us. Quite a few people actually asked us to add more because they didn't get a chance to help. We had hoped to buy a lot of things from thrift stores, but relying on public transport makes that a little difficult and surprisingly expensive. One thing my mother-in-law still needs is a few summer outfits and a bathrobe. She accidentally packed mostly winter clothes before we left South Africa. 😅 If anyone has recommendations for affordable clothing stores around Addison or Grapevine, I'd love to hear them! Yesterday morning a kind gentleman gave up the better part of his day to drive us around while we sorted out all the final things for our apartment. We collected the keys, got the money order for the lease, and finished all the paperwork. We truly cannot thank him enough for his kindness. He also took us to the Bass Pro Shop... wow! 🤯 What an experience! I've never seen a fishing and outdoor store that big in my life. We spent quite a while just walking around looking at everything. I keep saying it, but everything really is bigger in America... and everything is especially bigger in Texas! 🤠 Thursday I spent most of the day in bed, but a kind gentleman surprised us by bringing In-N-Out for dinner. 🍔 The Bible verses printed on the cups were such a thoughtful touch. We absolutely loved the Animal Style fries! Next on our list is Whataburger... although we're trying to eat a little healthier because y'all are going to make us fat in no time! 🤣 Yesterday we cooked ourselves some steaks with fried mushrooms and a fresh garden salad. Nothing fancy, just the cheapest steaks we could find, but after everything that's happened we were craving some proper meat. 🤣 And let me tell you... they tasted absolutely amazing! Sometimes it's the simple meals that are the best. The kids also spent the afternoon swimming, and my daughter was in her absolute element. If there's water nearby, she's happy. 😄 Oh, and one more very important question... Where does a brand-new Texan find herself a proper cowgirl hat and some cowgirl boots? 🤣🤭 I mean... I live in Texas now, for goodness' sake! Surely they're part of the uniform! 🤠😂 The only catch is they can't be expensive... I'm on a very tight budget! 🤣 So where does a budget-conscious new Texan go? Every day we're reminded what an incredible blessing it is to be here. Thank you to everyone who has prayed for us, encouraged us, supported us, and welcomed us with open arms. We truly couldn't have done this journey without you. While the world watches the war, the Islamic Republic of Iran hanged a 19-year-old boy today. His name is Erfan Esfandiari and he was his parents' only child. He did not kill anyone. He did not carry a weapon. His crime, according to the Islamic Republic, was opening a door. Sheltering protesters who were running from security forces. That was enough to send him to the gallows. Erfan was one of 12 young men in the Alikhani Square case in Isfahan, arrested during the January 2026 uprising. Yesterday, all 12 were moved to quarantine. Today, the Islamic Republic hanged him. And the fact that he is said to have been the richest man in history, thanks in part to his massive slave-owning society, is a detail somehow that teachers rarely ever teach. But it isn’t just our schools. It’s our general culture too. Take your kids to a museum or an art gallery in any Western country, and you’ll find the same narrative. As an example, when learning about aviation in London’s Science Museum and the extraordinary feat that is man making massive machines move in the sky, a write-up on the wall explains that women and Black people were historically barred from aviation schools and the military. Similarly, James Watt, the man who invented the steam engine and is considered the founder of the Industrial Revolution, has a write-up on the wall explaining that his early career involved slave trafficking, with a bonus analysis of the whole of Britain’s complicity in the slave trade. They flatten the entire human story and all of its complexities into the narrative of oppressor and oppressed, leaving young people unable to see the world in any other terms.” We have to end the mass indoctrination

In the quiet corridors of memory. In high school, during Grade 9, I used to ride the public bus to school every morning. There were a few stops along the route. One of the last ones before our school stop was for a Grade 11 girl named Maryka. She was full of life, excited for her future, with that bright spark so many young girls carried in those days, dreams of what lay ahead. One ordinary morning, she simply never showed up at her stop. The next day, the same silence. And the week after, still nothing. At first, I thought she was ill, tucked away at home recovering from something ordinary. But a few days later, the horrible truth shattered us all. While waiting for the bus that first morning she vanished, a car pulled up. Witnesses saw at least three Black men inside. They grabbed her, hunting her like an animal in broad daylight. What followed was a day of pure, demonic evil. They drove her around the city for hours, stopping repeatedly to gang-rape her in the most degrading ways imaginable. They burned her skin with cigarettes, pressing the glowing ends into her flesh again and again, leaving raw, blistering wounds that would scar her forever. They beat her mercilessly, turning her into a broken, bloodied pulp, fists and kicks raining down until her body was a map of bruises, swelling, and agony. When they were finally done with her, after dark, they threw her out of the moving car like discarded trash, leaving her for dead on the side of the road. By some miracle, another vehicle came across her shattered form and rushed her to the hospital. Maryka survived the immediate physical horrors, but the monsters had infected her with AIDS. The cigarette burns, the violations, the savage beatings; they stole her body, her future, and her peace. In the aftermath, she could barely face the world. She refused to leave the house, hiding away in fear. At night, she would sleep curled up inside her bedroom closet, seeking any small sense of safety. She covered those cigarette burns with plasters, unable to bear looking at the reminders of what they had done to her. The trauma consumed her completely. A few months later, we heard that Maryka, overwhelmed by the pain no one could heal, having just been told of her HIV status, took the sleeping pills prescribed by her doctor. She drew a warm bath, climbed in, and never climbed out again. A 17-year-old girl; beautiful, vibrant, with so much life ahead, snuffed out by unimaginable cruelty. This is what they did to her. They didn't just end a life; they tortured a soul, hunting and using her like a punching bag for their depravity. These are the scars on our community that we'll never forget. The pain lingers in every family touched by this endless wave of brutality in South Africa. This was also the day everything changed for us, the girls that once shared a bus ride with Maryka.
