My observation is that the people-vs-productivity curve looks like this. The question is where that corner is. I've seen no formal studies, but my guess is that Dunbar's number (~150) applies. Wouldn't be surprised if it was _much_ lower, though. 1/1

@allenholub I tell people (those who ask me what I do): “I am in the business of ondoing habits via small steps (one at a time) and help rebuild new ones — the people stuff, teamwork, collaboration, unlearning/learning… continual improvement…!!” The “soft” stuff…

Developing agility is largely a matter of convincing people to stop doing the ineffective stuff they don’t even question.

@johncutlefish Most of the time fear/unsafe environment is at the root of it … as Dr. Deming taught us … trust and respect are at the core of it … not a coincidence these are also at the foundation of Lean/TPS…

@CGLambdin I would say that the essential practice/activity in knowledge work is “communication, communication, communication,” (as a parallel to as in real estate is said “location, location, location”) … meetings are just a mechanism to accomplish the deed … imho …

Meetings are essential. They’re probably also your greatest source of waste and opportunity cost.

@ScopeMaster_ @CGLambdin Perhaps (I would like to suggest) that bug understanding, chasing, hunting, finding, confirming… it’s the time consuming part of the activity… once that’s done fixing it… is the easy less time consuming part, no?
