You are willfully misinterpreting Emma’s statement that we should not expect folks to alter their lives to accommodate us. No one believes this in an absolute sense. Child runs into the road, everyone alters their driving. Use some common sense.

Obviously that Atlantic article was upsetting to many people, many of whom I respect and admire. I wanted to respond. My goal in the article was to help parents understand what many people say when they say children are "low risk" (1/n)
