UPDATE: Just got out of court in Miami. The Judge extended the temporary restraining order until May 11th. There will be a ruling then. The court is now asking me to surrender my firearms. See documents below. We are filing an emergency interlocutory appeal today. Prior restraint against a newsroom is unconstitutional. Near v Minnesota. NYT v United States. This is a violation of our 1st and 2nd amendment rights. We are filing an anti-SLAAP, seeking attorneys fees and will appeal all the way, if necessary. The TRO is also based upon third party’s comments, not our reporting. Thats a “hecklers veto,” where the government suppresses or restricts news reporting because of the reaction of an audience. This is regarding our reporting on Matt Tyrmand. We published a tape of him threatening to kill me. He shot up an image of me on the front of my book with a rifle bullet through my heart. He bragged about being a SDNY informant. Comments were angry at him. He just brought a “domestic violence stalking” Restraining order afterwards in Miami family court against my news organization, and the local Judge signed off. This is an extraordinary series of events. This is not an April Fools joke.

No offense but between all the theft of IP and leaked data - the whole industry seems to be run by inexperienced college kids. When they do invite an adult into the room - seems to always be a psychopath with no real world experience who's solution is to fire folks as soon in as possible. I have watched our tech industry devolve into a nihilistic self promotion game with zero self perception and even less consequential thinking. These are literally the people building a system to 'replace' us? Stop the planet... Let them get off.

Medical schools now explicitly define their mission as extending beyond research and teaching to include vague notions of community benefit. Once that happens, merit can be defined in endless ways, including subjective features like personality traits and political priorities. Academic achievement is no longer the standard. There is no way around this unless universities are held to more narrowly defined missions centered on research and teaching.

You go to your local medical practice for routine care. The receptionist is American. The nurses are American. But when you finally get into the exam room the physician is an H1B doctor from India or Pakistan. And the next one. And the one after that. This is no longer isolated. Entire practices and departments are quietly filling with physicians from the same two countries through H1B sponsorship. Residency programs show the same heavy concentration. One internal medicine program in Massachusetts just posted 22 out of 25 residents from India alone. There is a good reason this keeps happening. This is their community and they will always prefer people from their own community. There is no shame in hiring from your own community even if they are from another country to practice in the USA. UNDERSTAND THE BIGGER SHAME FOR AN INDIAN OR PAKISTANI WOULD BE TO HIRE AN AMERICAN It will always be this was America and Americans are NOT their community and they do not care about us, never will. They have their own to give work to and they don't care if the people allowing it are doing it for globalist, financial, or compliance reasons. Foreign, Insurance, and Big Business lobbyists expect this from our politicians in return for their campaign contributions. The real issue is not that they network this way. The real issue is that American policy has created the conditions where this preference becomes dominant. Frozen residency caps since 1997 have limited domestic supply while H1B pathways and provisional licenses make importing compliant labor the easier cheaper route for health systems. We have 340 million people in this country and plenty of folks ready to go to medical school. Congress is doing this by design and planned it decades ago. Mike Kennealy wrote the regs for the MBTA Communities Act, then vigorously advocated for his hometown of Lexington to be the first to pass new zoning rules to comply with it. As a result, Lexington passed a massive $660 million tax hike to build a new school that is probably still not big enough to accommodate the influx of new students from all the new development. A Manhattan federal jury on Monday awarded $8.4 million to a New York University professor and former Cognizant Technology Solutions employee who claimed he was fired in retaliation for alleging the information technology company engaged in systematic hiring bias. . . . Jean-Claude Franchitti said he was fired in 2016 from a $350,000-a-year job after a decade at New Jersey-based Cognizant. He claimed it was retaliation for asking questions about the company's alleged bias toward hiring workers from India as part of a "cheap labor" profit model. The award for Franchitti consisted of $4.2 million in back pay, or lost wages, and $4.2 million in punitive damages. The jury declined to award compensation for front pay, or future earnings, or for an emotional distress claim. The trial revealed a dearth of written communications from Franchitti complaining about Cognizant's alleged strategy to keep a cheap labor pipeline open. His lawyers said Franchitti kept concerns verbal because he knew he was walking a "fine line" and wanted to find fixes diplomatically. Franchitti is pleased with the verdict, his lawyer, Daniel Kotchen, told Law360 via email. "The jury sent a strong message that violating employees' rights will not be tolerated," he said. Imagine you are a working father living in the Midwest, you make 75k a year. You can support your family, but you're not rich. You worry about paying for college. Then you read about some Somalian stealing $1m out of federal healthcare programs. $1 million for the normal guy would eliminate an enormous amount of his stress. The college thing would be covered. Retirement wouldn't appear so daunting. It's why guys like this buy lottery tickets. And instead he pays into the system and watches "newcomers" make a complete ass out of him. This fraud is bad financially, but it just makes a mockery of all the hard work of normal people and tears away at the social fabric.

Here are the facts about Boston Public Schools in one article. Central office staff up 90%. Total employee count up 33%. Enrollment down 20%. Less than 50% of the kids are at grade level. When I was on the team that turned around the Lawrence Public Schools we cut the central office by 40% and increased the high school graduation rate by 40%. With the right leadership, it can be done.
