Born and raised in Virginia. I know my opinion doesn't move the needle. Saying it anyway.
We put her in the seat. She lied to our faces and then laughed. Virginia was on the turn, one clean cycle from flipping red. They know it. That's why the push next week matters to them:
- mid-decade redistricting, the exact thing voters amended the constitution to prevent
- Holder's NDRC calling the plays
- Obama invoked as cover, despite his own public record against partisan maps
- a "fix" to the amendment that ended partisan gerrymandering
If Obama is the "Trump" card, pun intended, remember the record. The man went on the record against this. Unless Democrats sweep both houses and the White House in 2028, that's a record that doesn't survive neutral daylight. Some of us would call it treason. History might call it worse.
To the people who voted for this: joke's over. Do real research. Not social media. Not headlines. Look at NYC. Look at LA. Tax base bleeding, corporations gone, new fees every quarter, wealth-exit proposals on the table. That's the finished product. That's what's coming.
Everyone else: get off the couch and vote NO. Take your neighbor with you. This is not someone else's problem. If you sit this out and Virginia turns, don't complain when it starts looking like every blue city you've ever said "glad I don't live there" about.
