@AppyOrtho I agree and also asking what good nicknames are for a son. Like, the ones dads call them aren’t right for a mom (imo) “champ” or “sport” or “bud” Are there teen boy terms of endearment for moms to use?

I just found out yesterday that my friend, a man in his 30s, is sometimes called “babe” by his mother. Boy moms, stop it. For God’s sake, stop it. Once they are between 12 and 17 stop rubbing their arms, calling them pet names, etc. Give them respect, they are men!

@Obizski @WallStreetApes Exactly. I live in Laredo and have friends in the trucking industry. The Mexicans come over and pick up loads for $1-2/mile. Work a couple of weeks while living in their truck and then go back for to Mexico and repeat. They live good in Mexico. American truckers cannot compete.

Yes sir, Mr Perot warned us. I was OTR 87-99, started out with auto parts from Detroit to many points on the Mexican border; Laredo, Nogales, El Paso, Brwnville. We didn't cross the border - the Mexican drivers would run south and bring the back hauls to the American side. The Mexican drivers were allowed a small corridor on the state side back then. Now, when we take road trips we see them everywhere. Our son gave it a shot (he was a hotshot) and finally dead-headed home 1000 miles bc $1-$2 wasnt cuttin it. I get that the brokers have a lot to do with it but man, what could be a wonderful business has been hijacked.

@jeepgirl9272 @TJandCasper The USMCA opened it up for Mexico truck drivers to drive from MX thru the US to CA. Here on the border, they are picking up loads paying $1/mile & will work in the US for 2 wk then return to MX where they live and repeat. US truckers cannot compete with that and are hurting.

I’ve said it for a long time the economy sucks and trucking has been in a recession for the past 2 years. Freight is slow across the country. And today it really hit home. As of today without warning Halvor has cut off all of us contractors.
