This photo of Andy Kim in the moments before ICE gassed everyone at Delaney Hall is going into the history books. We need more of this from our electeds.

The US Senate doesn't need to balance the budget. But state executives, including the Attorney General, do. AG Weiser has lead Colorado's Department of Law and sued the Trump admin 64 times and counting, within balanced budget and TABOR constraints.
Michael Bennet@MichaelBennet

While other attorneys general were fighting, Phil sat out. My career has been about making hard decisions and balancing tough budgets. Colorado needs a governor who doesn’t just fight when it’s easy. The easy choices are behind us. The hard work is ahead.

While Congress sends letters and stages political theater, state prosecutors are the ones standing with victims, prosecuting violent offenders, and protecting communities. Colorado deserves leaders who will stand strong when Washington politicians try to bully this state.

Prevention measures like an $11 bath mat could save Americans tens of thousands of dollars.   If Medicare would send these out to every recipient in America, I’ll bet the investment would pay for itself in under a year.

@libbychambe After closer examination Massie has 2 spines while Jared has 0. It's possible Massie took Jared's in an earlier exchange. The evidence supports this theory.

As a for example, Rep Massie stood up to Trump, at great political cost to himself, whereas Governor Polis, who is term limited, just capitulated to Trump. That's just way in which Polis and Massie differ!
Jared Polis@jaredpolis

While I don’t agree with him on many issues, @RepThomasMassie @MassieforKY has the most integrity of anyone in Congress, and he’s super-smart. I’m truly saddened to see our nation lose out on his ongoing public service. Better times: grist.org/article/these-…

Governor Polis commuted Tina Peters' sentence while thousands of parole-eligible Coloradans are stuck behind bars. Our current prison population management tools are not working. I was proud to sponsor SB36 to address this crisis. This bill is awaiting the governor's signature.

A reminder that people living in this economy are experts at understanding how it's rigged. @GovofCO if we actually want to make Colorado affordable, it means standing up to the corporations ripping us off--no matter how many corporate lobbyists they have whispering in your ear. Sign HB 1210 prohibiting surveillance wages and prices.
American Economic Liberties Project@econliberties

“Bad, bad. I think the price should be the price. Not how much they think you're willing to pay for something.” ICYMI: New focus group research finds Americans overwhelmingly oppose surveillance pricing. Here are some of the responses:

The 1st reconciliation bill kicked ten million off their health insurance and took food away from literal children and this 2nd reconciliation bill gives tens of billions of dollars to ICE (beyond what they got in the 1st bill) but I’m sure the stuff to help people is coming soon

Colorado lacks the revenue to make this policy work: We only get TABOR refunds when the bar is dark green/K-12 funding only gets "boosted" when the bar is dark green. The success of this policy requires more $, which could be raised through, say, a graduated income tax.

Child care in America is broken — and families and providers are paying the price.  1 in 3 families spends more on child care than on rent. Childcare workers earn poverty wages and have had their healthcare and SNAP benefits cut. Corporations are raising prices on everything from gas to groceries. This system is unaffordable and unsustainable. This is why TODAY, we're standing with parents and providers for a #DayWithoutChildCare — demanding public funding that makes care affordable, thriving wages and benefits for providers, and an economy that works for all of us. Because when child care works, families thrive. Communities thrive. Everyone wins. Visit DayWithoutChildcare.org to learn more!  #ChildcareChangemakers #DWOCC26 #UniversalChildCare @communitychange
