Irene Sobel literally wasn't in Europe during the war. She left beforehand and was reporting nightmare stories that she'd heard when she'd gone back after the war after her whole family was killed. And she was doing this in an interview 50 years later. She also mentioned the "human soap" myth and seeing lamps made from human skin, which was a thing that happened but also a thing where many of the examples displayed were animal skins.

@literaryeric @ZaidJilani You would say wrong. He’s clearly contrasting the level of evidence behind the two claims. The NYT declined to cover the former, per @IsraelMFA, so it’s not just that they cover similar subjects. I fail to see how this post even applies to the other allegations Kristof made.

My advice to MILs is to play the long game if you live nearby Even if your DIL turns into kind of a neurotic jerk postpartum, at some point she's gonna cry tears of ecstatic relief at the idea that a certified non-psycho could take the baby for a few hours on a weekly basis

@liora_ @RelhatsT @webdevMason Yes, that’s what happens when they’re adults. You don’t get a say in any of their lives, unless asked for advice. Travel, knit, get a hobby- your parental job is completed. And yes- the biological parents will be their grandchildren’s parent. Shocking!

@webdevMason My aunt is currently trying her best to keep the peace so that any potential grandchildren she has will not be kept from her. She’s sucking it up even though she shouldn’t have to because she wants her son and his family in her life.

@lennysan I at some point was reviewing AI-written queries from other data people, and they all had critical errors. Some wouldn’t even run! In only one instance was the error manually fixed before I reviewed it. (I’m a PM though, just a very data-capable one)

Not enough people are talking about how much AI is impacting the role of data science. I was chatting with a DS friend, and he said that most of his team's work now is reviewing half-assed AI data analysis from PMs and engineers. And that 50% of the time, that analysis is wrong. The role is becoming less fun.

I have just been made aware that a domestic abuser, Raphi Stein, is a follower of mine on social media. Raphi has refused to give his wife Adeena a Gett (Jewish bill of divorce), thereby preventing her from remarrying. Raphi can do so at any moment and is choosing to hold his wife captive instead. In accordance with Jewish Law, Raphi needs to be totally ostracized from our community. Don't speak to him, don't allow him into your Synagogue or school, refuse to sell anything to him. Those who abuse women and children have no role in Jewish life. Raphi if you're reading this: go fuck yourself.
