Waiting for blue hour, I captured this photo, after noticing the sun radiating through the window. This is the Naturalist Shack at Assateague Island National Seashore. The Naturalist Shack, located at old Ferry Landing, used to be a hunting cabin before Assateague Island was a National Seashore. It was brought up from the backcountry and is now used as a storage building for interpretive program supplies (source: Assateague NPS). Taking a blue hour shot to use as a Milky Way foreground is commonplace in astrophotography. The sky will be blended with the foreground to make an amazing photo 🙂

@DataRepublican I’m not nearly as complimentary of these intelligence officers. They had a political agenda. The only thing that they were genuinely alarmed about was having a Trump that they couldn’t control and manipulate.

Ok, I'm apparently not good at writing parables, because nearly everyone interpreted it wrong. I used a parable because I want to respect others' service records, especially when not all the facts are out yet. So let's pivot to a much more direct analogy. In 2016, career intelligence professionals, people who had genuinely spent their lives fighting America's enemies, became convinced that a foreign power had compromised the incoming president. They had data points. Real ones. Trump had business dealings in Moscow. He said nice things about Putin on camera. People in his orbit had meetings with Russian nationals. A dossier appeared with salacious claims. Each data point individually was... a data point. But they were looking for Russia. So they found Russia. Everywhere. They were so certain they were right that they leaked to the press. They used classification authority to spy on American citizens. They presented unverified opposition research to a FISA court as intelligence. Peter Strzok texted about "insurance policies." Andrew McCabe authorized leaks. They were experienced professionals who genuinely believed the republic was in danger. Their service records were real. Their concern was sincere. And they were wrong.
DataRepublican (small r)@DataRepublican

I'm a Smurf. I've been hired to run counter-intelligence operations at Smurf Village. My role is political; I've personally gone up against the evil wizard Gargamel. But once I'm on the inside, I discover that Smurf Village has a relationship with a goat-riding human boy called Peewit. Peewit isn't a Smurf. He's caused a lot of damage with his antics over the years. Why is he even here? I start digging. I pull up Papa Smurf's history with Peewit. Papa Smurf has been collaborating with this kid for years. Protecting him. Making excuses for him. Why? Peewit is reckless. Peewit makes messes. But Papa Smurf keeps letting him back in. The more I dig, the more Peewit I find. He's everywhere. In every file, behind every favor, connected to every mess. A picture forms in my head: if I'm looking for Peewit everywhere and I keep finding Peewit, the only logical conclusion is that Peewit is the one controlling Papa Smurf. Then a prominent Smurf gets assassinated. They say Gargamel's people did it. Case closed, move along. But I get access to the dead Smurf's private messages. And there's Peewit. Right there in the chats. The same Peewit I've been laser-focused on all year. Pressuring him. Making demands. I bring this to Papa Smurf and his inner circle. I bring it with alarm. Papa Smurf looks at me funny. And then — just like that — I'm kicked out of the investigation. No explanation. Just... out. This is the final proof that Peewit is controlling the Smurf Village. I know what I saw. I have to get the truth out there. So I do the unthinkable. I leak the information.

Can Kentucky Republicans PLEASE start making better choices
Bill Melugin@BillMelugin_

Three sources familiar now confirm to @FoxNews that Sen. Paul (R-KY) blocked Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL) from introducing Mullin at his hearing. Statement to FOX via senior Senate GOP source familiar with the situation: "Rand Paul has become completely blinded by his hatred of President Trump and petty personal squabbles. His actions today were those of a seething snake—and a hopeless hypocrite. What kind of free speech advocate would bar Senator Mullin’s choice to deliver his introduction from speaking? What kind of Republican would bar a fellow Republican Senator from voicing their support of a colleague? Why is this guy allowed to hold a Republican gavel anymore?"

@Wildland507 @braxton_mccoy As Halsey said. There are no great men. There are only great challenges which ordinary men like you and me are forced by circumstance to meet. Genuflecting is obsolete. No royalty. Men in wars before also died, lost limbs. The band played on.

🇺🇸 🤝 🇸🇪 Today, the Kingdom of Sweden becomes the first member of the European Union to sign the Pax Silica Declaration. What is unfolding in the Strait of Hormuz right now is a lesson. Iran is deliberately weaponizing a single point of failure in the global economy to hold the world hostage through a narrow corridor of water. This lesson is not only about oil. It is about dependency. It is about what happens when the physical infrastructure of global civilization — the chokepoints, the corridors, the cables, the ports — becomes the battlefield. Sweden is not merely a diplomatic partner. Sweden is a 5G power. Ericsson — born in Stockholm, built over 150 years of relentless engineering — is one of the only companies on Earth capable of building trusted, sovereign-grade 5G infrastructure at scale. We are building the logistics architecture, the mineral supply chains, the refining capacity, the manufacturing redundancy, and the investment vehicles so that no adversary — ever — can weaponize a chokepoint and threaten our economies. state.gov/on-the-occasio…

Mulder’s Long Fight for Account Reinstatement
Don’t let the online vet bros shame you into withholding criticism on Kent * if you think him deserving of it.* There are plenty of leftwing vets, Ron Paul vets, Buchanan vets, and groyper vets. We sometimes make the mistake of assuming all former warfighters are on “our” side. To some, military service is just a jobs program and, after they’re out, a shield against fair-minded criticism and a sword to wield against non vets daring to speak up in a county that places civilian control over its military. Not every Holocaust victim was a good person. Not every vet is a sage. You can appreciate the service without genuflecting in perpetuity. 🤷

I admit I laughed at James’s absurd “you’re woke” insult. What’s next, James, do I also have a micropenis? The definition of “woke” comes from Brazilian Marxist Paulo Freire who used schools to each kids “critical consciousness” which is a euphemism for teaching kids to look at the world through a Marxist lens. James knows this because he and I read Paulo Friere’s works at the same time and compared notes. Here’s the thing. James and I have religious differences. Which we’ve discussed in a friendly way for years. In person. On the phone. Via text. I’m devoutly Catholic. He’s a lapsed Catholic turned atheist (I think?). Obviously we view the world differently because of that, in some senses. That extends to politics too, obviously. Nonetheless, James has done phenomenal work for the conservative movement. He coined the term groomer, which almost singlehandedly helped shape the cultural perception of trans ideology indoctrinated into kids in schools. He also exposed the CRT architects and their modern adherents. I’ve read hundreds of thousands of words of his writing pre-publication for him. James and I also sat in a hotel bar in DC after some conference like five years ago and I showed him the research and narrative outline for my new book—the book in which I make this exact case, that there’s no such thing as neutrality. He probably disagreed, I don’t remember. I do remember valuing his feedback. We’re thought leaders. We’re supposed to engage in substantive debate about areas of disagreements. Key word: substantive. We’re NOT supposed to accuse each other of having micropenises or being woke (equally absurd claims) in lieu of debate. This is what I was talking about in yesterday’s episode about the right wing podcast wars. What have we become on the right? So insecure that we can’t have substantive debates on policy and political philosophy without resorting to silly baseless insults? Is Real Housewives hair pulling next? Sometimes I feel alone when I say this: I reject the insecurity running rampant in the conservative movement right now that dictates that we must vilify and cancel people we mostly agree with if we have any disagreements. Disagree with me all you want, James. But please make your substantive CASE or you really won’t be any fun to debate.
James Lindsay, anti-Communist@ConceptualJames

Uh oh, the Woke "no such thing as neutral so we're good" line.

I had to laugh. Thought leader as a job description. Plus a hearty chuckle sensing there’s a drama going on with having to air out grievances having an audience. It’s weirder than weird. Lastly, Jesus is a personal relationship and no judge or jury has ever been needed or wanted.

This is no principled resignation born of conscience, no noble stand against the machinery of empire. This is the desperate exit of a compromised asset, a man whose veins have pumped classified poison into the veins of the Republic since at least August 2025. Brenden called it first, and the rest of us...those with eyes unclouded by the narcotic of self-righteous dissent...already knew. Kent wasn’t merely leaking; he was a vector, a carrier of intelligence tailored for enemies foreign and domestic. And here is the lethal precision of the play: the administration didn’t just know. They weaponized it. They fed him bad product...the classic counterintelligence honeypot that turns the rat into the instrument of his own destruction. Months of carefully calibrated falsehoods, calibrated to map his network, to expose his handlers, to let the virus reveal its own antibodies. Kent, in his pathology, believed himself the hero, the whistleblower unmasking “Israeli pressure” and nonexistent threats. Psychological projection at its most malignant: the traitor who convinces himself the betrayal is patriotism, the leaker whose ego demands he be the smartest man in the room while the real operators use his mouth as a megaphone for engineered lies. This is textbook tradecraft, the kind that separates the amateurs from those who understand the human terrain. Kent’s resignation letter...dripping with feigned moral clarity about “no imminent threat”...is the final spasm of a man whose utility has expired. His psychology is textbook: the far-right poseur who craves the spotlight of dissent, the former Ranger whose warrior ethos curdled into grievance once the mirror showed him for what he truly was...a compromised node in a larger game. The wife ties, the Grayzone whispers, the sudden alignment with every narrative that weakens America First…pathology doesn’t hide forever. It festers, then flees when the light hits. We are going to find out exactly that. Not in whispers. In indictments. In the cold autopsy of every drop he passed, every source he burned, every false flag he unwittingly carried. The administration played him like a Stradivarius of stupidity, and the symphony is only now reaching its crescendo. Sunlight is coming, Kent. And it burns traitors to ash. 🗡️💀⚖️
Brenden Dilley@WarlordDilley

I've known Joe Kent was leaking since at least August/September which means the administration has probably known for a hell of a lot longer than that. Gonna be funny when we find out they were feeding him bad intelligence to leak to Tucker and others for months...
