@lockinmarv

I went all-in and quit my 9-5 to build my own projects. Building desktop apps. Tired by day, awake at night.

I'm happy to announce my new project Codex has been working on night and day! The tech stack behind will absolutely surprise you! 🤯 (Hint: it's not React) Let me explain what it actually is 🧵👇

@piyushsphere this is the worst design I have ever seen, people has been milking these same screenshots and nobody is fixing the line number alignment on the gutter, the sans-serif font on the code editor, icon-font size inconsistency on header, etc.

@KeepItFLOSSY There isn’t much ram usage difference if you add the different processes. So it’s probably fine to use Electron for consistency. Also, you can still use Rust for performance critical code and then use napi-rs to compile to a .node which you can then call from JS.

Sorry for the delay. I’ve been fighting the Tauri model for the Mac/linux/windows app/programs but it is causing too many bugs so I have to use the Electron model. I wanted to go Tauri because of the super low RAM usage for AI Forge MCP. But Electron is going to allow everything to work super duper smooth and very efficient. It wasn’t my first choice. But everything needs to run as intended in order for everyone to have the best experience possible. Thank you for paying attention to this matter Now enjoy us slicing some homemade lunch meat

One of the hardest parts of being a content creator: Wanting to make EVERYTHING Not just stream I want projects, big concepts, short form content, long form content, and the list goes on and on-! And then I remember... I'm just one person T.T

@yiliush @_zhibo Probably just because it’s not Electron lol. People still think it’s a different world but Tauri still has too many issues and inconsistencies

tmux + xterm + node-pty = horrible scrollback artifacting. I struggled all week with maxxed claude + codex + gemini. all failed. I realized the solution was to drop tmux and persist node-pty in a sidecar. None of the agents even proposed this approach. github.com/collaborator-a…

@ContentDelta Yeah 100%. The account shouldn’t exist just to post going live posts. Btw just noticed you, didn’t know you are the one from the YouTube videos. 😂 Keep it up, they are really helpful!

@marvlocked Providing context and tailor making it to the stream is absolutely better, but personally: It should be part of a greater content strategy. If your Twitter posts are 75% "Going Live", you are probably not going to get much back from it.

I genuinely love the creativity on display with #streamerbot here, but I kinda hate the functionality. Automated go live messages on Twitter won't help you grow. You aren't providing value to your audience!

You can now automate your tweets with @streamerdotbot Going live on Twitch or YouTube? Streamer.bot will create the tweet for you - and optionally delete the tweet once you go offline 🙌 Disclaimer: Requires credits, 1 tweet costs 1 cent, so a $5 charge covers you

@JasonHassold @jessfraz I use tailwind myself, but "readable" is definitely not an advantage tbh. Yes, "p-4 text-red-500 mb-4" is readable but if you apply like 20 different styles because the element has borders, shadows, focus styles etc. it becomes cumbersome. With tw-variants it's a bit better tho

@jessfraz it defaults you to a flat complexity styling is co-located & readable on the element and it's typically only located there you don't have to think about good naming and organization for classes and rules you end up with a small CSS file

I really don't understand tailwind, all it did is make everyone inline styles & everything becomes bifurcated inlined styles. It's full blown anarchy there's nothing blocking people from doing shit thats gross in one place, I have to write eslint rules to not descend into chaos.
