🚨🇺🇸 Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth just quoted a fake Bible verse from Pulp Fiction during a Pentagon prayer session. He adapted Samuel L. Jackson’s Ezekiel 25:17 monologue into a military version about downed aviators and vengeance, ending with “you will know my call sign is Sandy 1 when I lay my vengeance upon thee.” It’s a movie line that doesn’t exist in the actual Bible. This is the kind of awkward moment that gives ammunition to critics, even if the underlying message about protecting American troops is solid. You don’t need Hollywood scripts to honor service members — stick to the real thing. Source: Pentagon event footage (April 2026)

Californians deserve better. Better than a billionaire who profited from ICE detention centers and a Trump-backed MAGA Republican. I’m offering a better path forward.

I jumped into this race because Californians shouldn’t have to choose between a dangerous MAGA agenda or empty promises. You deserve a Governor who delivers, and I have.

For the 13th time during the military conflict, Ukraine‘s Zaporizhzya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) lost all off site power this morning after the disconnection of its last remaining external power line. The plant’s emergency diesel generators immediately started operating to provide the power needed for essential safety functions. The IAEA team at the plant is monitoring the situation. Meanwhile, the IAEA is continuing consultations with both sides on establishing a local ceasefire to enable repairs on another power line for the ZNPP. “Off site power loss once again highlights nuclear safety risks during the conflict,” IAEA DG @RafaelMGrossi says.

‼️ZELENSKYY: We will not sell our weapons like we did in the 1990s. Instead, we will share our knowledge and expertise in exchange for long-term, mutually beneficial security partnerships with Ukraine. “We're building new partnerships on weapons differently than in the nineties or two thousands, when Ukrainian weapons and forces were sold off like it's Black Friday. We're not holding a fire sale of our weapons or emptying our warehouses. We're offering a security partnership that's long-term and profitable for Ukraine” - Zelenskyy’s address to the workers of Ukraine’s defense-industrial complex. April 13th, 2026.

We also have experience in guaranteeing maritime security – objectively, the most current in the world. No one else has carried out missions like Ukrainians have in the Black Sea. When people talk about security in the Strait of Hormuz, it is often a theoretical discussion. Those who speak about it have not conducted such operations themselves. Ukrainians have. We have fought an enemy fleet, air strikes, and naval mines – we have been through all of it. And if partners offer us cooperation on equal footing, Ukraine can help. Our naval drones, Sea Baby, Magura, and Sargan, are well-known, and this is Ukraine’s export offering too. As is our artillery, which we produce at the largest scale in Europe. As are our shells, which are now growing in numbers. As is our armor, which becomes more effective every year. All of this is delivered by our defense industry – our defense industry professionals, Ukrainian arms makers. I thank everyone involved in this. In production halls, design bureaus, laboratories, test ranges, in production and repair – every day working for Ukraine. A strong Ukraine because it can defend itself. Modern, because it is changing the rules of the game. A Ukraine that matters because it can help others, and a Ukraine that is, in many respects, indispensable. All thanks to our experience, expertise, and technology. From the congratulatory address to the workers of Ukraine’s defense-industrial complex (3/3).
