Pakistan may be accidentally building one of the world’s first decentralised #solar economies. The craziest part? Real scale barely shows in official stats. Imported 51.5 GW solar panels by late 2025—nearly = entire grid. Yet registered net-metered rooftop solar just 5.3–6.8 GW. What makes this story so extraordinary is the speed. In only a few years, Pakistan appears to have gone from a relatively minor solar market to potentially sourcing around a quarter of its electricity from solar once distributed generation is included. 👉 ~16.6–17 GW solar imports in 2024 👉 ~18 GW solar imports in 2025 👉 ~51.5 GW cumulative imports by late 2025 👉 Rooftop solar: ~1.3 GW → 4.1 GW in 2024 👉 ~5.3–6.8 GW registered rooftop solar in 2025 👉 24+ GW estimated behind-the-meter/off-grid 👉 Solar potentially ~25% of actual electricity use The massive gap between imported panels and officially registered systems strongly suggests tens of gigawatts are now operating quietly on homes, farms, factories and businesses across the country. This increasingly looks less like a normal energy transition and more like large-scale consumer-led grid defection. And economics is driving nearly all of it. Electricity tariffs surged. Diesel prices climbed. Blackouts remained common. Meanwhile ultra-cheap Chinese solar panels and falling battery prices made self-generation economically irresistible. So millions effectively made the same calculation: Generate your own power, or remain trapped inside an expensive and unstable system. Once solar becomes cheaper than the grid itself, adoption can move faster than governments, utilities and even official statistics can keep up with. This isn’t gradual transition by any stretch. It may ultimately become a blueprint for how energy-poor nations break free from legacy old-world energy systems dominated by fossil fuels and increasingly expensive centralised power. It’s decentralisation at escape velocity. This is #Bettrification.

China's nuclear posture is undergoing its biggest transformation since 1964. The stockpile has tripled since 2020 — from a few hundred warheads to 600+ today, projected to cross 1,000 by 2030. Three new ICBM silo fields at Yumen, Hami and Yulin/Ordos host ~320 silos between them. The DF-5C paraded in September 2025 already carries MIRVs. Jin-class SSBNs are on continuous-at-sea patrols with MIRV-capable JL-3s that can range Indian targets. And Beijing is shifting away from "mutual vulnerability" toward multi-layered midcourse missile defence and a launch-on-warning posture. This is the world the Agni MIRV test on 8 May lands in. It is also why it matters. What MIRV does: - One MIRVed Agni splits into 4-6 independently targetable warheads after burnout, each at Mach 20+, scattered over hundreds of km - Five such missiles put 20 warheads in the sky at once — forcing China to attempt 40-50 successful interceptions in under 10 minutes What it means for India's deterrent: - Defeats Chinese midcourse interceptors by sheer arithmetic — India doesn't need to match China silo-for-silo - Undercuts any disarming first-strike calculation — fewer launchers, but each carrying many warheads - Restores credibility to no-first-use: a handful of surviving MIRVed Agnis can simultaneously hold Chinese command nodes, missile garrisons, ports, industrial and population centres at risk The unfinished work: - The land leg is now MIRV-capable. - The sea leg is not. Arihant-class boats still carry single-warhead K-15s and K-4s. - The MIRV-capable K-5 hasn't been flight-tested. The K-6 is on the drawing board. China can already hold Indian targets at risk from beneath the sea with multiple warheads per missile. India cannot do the same yet. Closing the sea-based MIRV gap is the single most stabilising investment India can make. This @swarajyamag deep-dive by @prakharkgupta is the best explainer you'll read on what 8 May MIRV test: swarajyamag.com/defence/one-in…

In a new report , a survivor from the October 7th attack, using the pseudonym Sapir, told how a woman was gang raped by terrorists, during which one cut off her breast. 'He throws it on the road, and they are playing with it,' she said. A terrorist then 'shot her in the head' while still assaulting her. This is the reality of Hamas’ sexual violence, which some on the Left still choose to ignore.
