I asked @bofrench at an event a few weeks ago what he can do, realistically, about this given his authority on the railroad commission.
I'm not taking away anything from his victory, which was hard-won and such a white pill. He matter of factly stated he can basically do nothing about this with his authority. There are also two other commissioners that he'll have to deal with.
BUT probably the most white pilling answer is that he now has INFLUENCE within the Texas state government and a bully pulpit to push for these policies on media appearances and from the capitol.
Bo's eventual election to the TRC is great, however, his presence will be monumental.

Montana: A coal seam fire surfaced south of Broadus, Montana yesterday as high winds helped ignite surface fuels. Coal seam fires are prevalent across the world, China, Russia, and parts of the U.S.
This Bradshaw Fire burned 2,650 acres through the night, but the USWFS, Montana DNRC, and local volunteers conducted firing Ops to remove fuel around the fire.

Fires, they burn underground and pop up once in a while when the conditions are right. I’ve done an entire episode on these types of fires. The longest burning coal seam fire in the world is in Australia, thought to have been burning for 6,000 years.

The fewer women relative to men in India (historically ~940 females per 1,000 males per 2011 census, with recent NFHS surveys showing improvement to ~1,020 overall) is driven by deep-rooted son preference in parts of society. This leads to sex-selective abortions, female infanticide/neglect, and dowry-related issues in patriarchal communities—not unique to India but amplified there.
The quoted crime is an extreme, criminal example of that bias.
On the 2019 Lynn/Becker national IQ assessment: India's estimate is ~76-77 (mean/median similar in the dataset). These figures are controversial, heavily debated for methodology, and strongly correlated with education, nutrition, and development levels.
