Five words. That's the measure of an ally. Not heated rhetoric surrounding a hockey game. Real world issues. Global politics. Where it matters. "Canada supports the United States" A key phrase in Canadian Prime Minister's statement today in support of the US initiative to help free the good people of Iran from an evil repressive regime, an act that will make the world safer in the long run. No hesitancy. No qualification. No equivocation. The natural relationship is: Canada ❤️ USA Just not when an American administration bizarrely and unwarrantedly attacks Canada.

The most powerful warship ever built just disappeared. The USS Gerald R. Ford, 100,000 tons of nuclear-powered floating sovereignty carrying over 75 aircraft and a crew of 4,500, switched off its transponder and vanished from every public tracking system on earth. The most advanced aircraft carrier in human history is somewhere in the Eastern Mediterranean and the only people who know its exact coordinates are the ones giving the orders. When a carrier goes dark, it is not hiding. It is hunting. The Ford has been deployed for 241 consecutive days. If this operation extends through April it will become the longest carrier deployment since Vietnam. The US Navy does not break fifty-year records for deterrence. It breaks them for war. And the Ford is not alone. The USS Abraham Lincoln holds station in the Arabian Sea with a second full carrier air wing, escort cruisers, and destroyers carrying enough Tomahawk cruise missiles to reshape the geography of Iran’s coastline. Two carrier strike groups. Sixteen warships confirmed in theater. 150 aircraft between them. 800 potential daily sorties. Forty to fifty percent of all deployable US airpower in the Middle East concentrated in two floating airbases that Iran cannot see, cannot track, and cannot reach. Now map the geometry. The Ford sits west of Iran behind Israel’s air defense umbrella. Any Iranian missile aimed at the Ford must first cross the most advanced integrated air defense network on the planet. The Lincoln sits south of Iran in the Arabian Sea, beyond the range of most Iranian ballistic missiles but within strike range of every target in southern Iran including the IRGC naval bases that would enforce any Hormuz closure. Iran is bracketed. West and south. Mediterranean and Arabian Sea. Two carriers that can launch simultaneous strikes from two axes while remaining in waters where Iranian retaliation has to cross through allied defense systems to reach them. This is not a defensive posture. This is a kill box built from aircraft carriers. The Ford went dark because what comes next does not benefit from Tehran knowing the launch point. The F-22s already destroyed the air defenses. The first wave of strikes already hit the leadership. The IRGC already fired its retaliation and hit one civilian with debris. Iran announced Hormuz closure via VHF radio and the US Fifth Fleet did not respond with a statement. It responded by repositioning assets that make the IRGC navy’s entire order of battle obsolete. Iran threatened to close a 21-mile strait. America parked two aircraft carriers on either side of the country that borders it. The Ford did not disappear. The Ford stopped telling Iran where to look. Because the next thing Iran sees from that ship will not be a transponder signal. It will be the sky filling with aircraft. open.substack.com/pub/shanakaans…

The USS Gerald R. Ford is not parked near Iran. It is parked off Israel. And nobody is asking the only question that matters: why. The $13.3 billion crown jewel of the US Navy, the largest warship ever constructed, just positioned itself off Haifa. Not in the Arabian Sea where the Lincoln sits 850 kilometers from Iranian shores loaded for offensive operations. Not in the Gulf where strike range is optimal. Off Israel. Defending Israel. This is not redundancy. This is architecture. Two carriers. Two missions. Two entirely different strategic functions. The Lincoln is the sword, positioned to launch strike packages into Iranian airspace within hours of an order. The Ford is the shield, its Aegis missile defense systems creating an umbrella over Israeli population centers against the retaliation that follows the first Tomahawk. America just split its carrier doctrine into offense and defense simultaneously. That has not happened since the Pacific theater in 1945. But the positioning reveals something deeper than tactics. When Iran retaliates, and every wargame says Iran retaliates, its missiles and drones fly toward Israel. They will fly through the same airspace where a US carrier strike group is now stationed. Every Iranian missile aimed at Tel Aviv or Haifa must traverse the Ford’s defensive envelope. Shooting at Israel means shooting at, around, and through an American carrier group. Iran cannot retaliate against Israel without engaging American naval assets. The Ford’s position makes that physically impossible. The carrier is not defending Israel as a favor. It is positioned so that any Iranian response to American strikes automatically becomes an attack on American forces, triggering the full unrestrained weight of US military response without a single additional political decision required. This is escalation insurance written in steel and seawater. If the campaign goes longer than planned, if munitions run thin in 7 to 10 days, if allies hesitate, the Ford’s position ensures that Iranian retaliation does the political work Washington cannot do alone: it transforms a limited American strike into an act of self-defense that no ally can refuse to support. You do not park a $13.3 billion carrier where the enemy’s return fire will hit it unless you want the enemy’s return fire to hit it. The Ford is not there to prevent escalation. The Ford is there to guarantee that if escalation comes, it comes on terms that make American restraint politically impossible and allied participation politically unavoidable. open.substack.com/pub/shanakaans…

@tkawaja At this critical moment, I stand in support of @tkawaja and willing to give him the benefit of the doubt regarding his claim as to why his name appears in the Epstein files I ask that you consider doing the same. Of course as the remaining 3MM files are released, this may change.

OMG, I'm in the Epstein Files. Well, at least technically. My name was listed as one of 150 attending a tech event in 2014 in an invitation sent to Jeffrey Epstein (he didn't attend). I had to joke about the fact that I'm technically in the files. What is not a joke are the actual people who hung out with this pariah who are on a spectrum that ranges from having horrible judgement to full-on creep / pedophile.
