@JoshuaR35073488 TOPS is only a tracking system, they're still a Cross Country unit.

@machappa19 I know BR didn't operate them however the class system was introduced by BR using the TOPS system. But more people know what BR is than TOPS so most people will use the term BR over TOPS to improve understanding.

@JoshuaR35073488 @RAIL Having spent many years driving, teaching on 158's including the ones involved, any sort of collision a driver would prefer a modern train with stronger cabs, better brakes including enhanced emergency braking and override protection.

@machappa19 @RAIL The RAIB did tests with 158s after a collision with a bridge at Barrow-Upon-Soar and found the 158s to be compliant with the Crash Worthyness requirements for new build stock at the time. gov.uk/raib-reports/d…

@JoshuaR35073488 @RAIL Firstly the report says nothing which you've stated about 158's crash worthyness as it involved a DB train and embankment giving way. 2nd gen DMU's don't comply to modern RIS for anything and are only operating on the network due to grandfather rights.

@20splentyforus @wrexhamcbc Wrexham council did not assess the implementation of the legislation, just blindly followed orders unlike other councils. It now takes 30 mins to do a 12mile journey instead 20mins before the change. Also how come there's been no policing of zones?

@20splentyforus @wrexhamcbc Total crap, lots of Wrexham 20mph zones are irrelevant and don't comply to the legislation. Why have a 20mph zones at cross lanes on a road with no streetlights, 6 houses all stood back from road and a major arterial route from England.

20's Plenty for Us@20splentyforus·
With 20mph limits now recognised as reducing speed and casualties, especially where there are pedestrian and cyclist users, councillors/officers in @wrexhamcbc will bear a heavy responsibility and duty of care when considering any increases on specific roads to 30mph. Without protection, by segregated facilities for vulnerable road users, then any decision to increase a limit by 50% to 30mph will surely incur community injuries as a direct result. Children and elderly pedestrians will be most at risk from death or injury.

@Electra88007 Mine of these tend to last only a matter of months, hence why I use a proper leather driver's bag so far still in good nick after 10 years with me plus it's previous owners use.

After six and a half years of faithful service, the time has come to retire my bag! It’s done me proud but it was falling to bits……will the new one last as long? First airing for it tomorrow on 4M49 and 4S44!

@Louisecdtv That's why 3/4 of trainees I've trained over the recent years are all either ex- police, ex-NHS, ex-fire service.

Train drivers demand to be paid for each hour worked. Train drivers get paid for working a shift on a rostered day off. Train drivers are greedy and unreasonable Meanwhile Police Officers work a T.O.I.L. system & believe in fairies, santa claus and getting a day off eventually

@WGTransport @KenSkatesMS How about actually running trains in the north. Total shambles, can't rely on the service since TfW took over. Constantly cancelling services.

@RAIL A non-story. Wxm-Bid is a notoriously slippy route. You never published a story for all the other over runs over the years. Most of us have slid through stations along this line.

Thanks to everyone who alerted us to the recent promotional posters… in Wrexham. Unfortunately, our Welcome To Wroxham posters have been mistakenly displayed in the wrong town. We are trying to get this resolved. We apologise to @Wrexham_AFC fans for any confusion.

@MarkMiddleton37 @RMTunion They also play the algorithm's to be the top search. For minimal outlay they can manipulate these. Most businesses do this and the good ones get to the top of the page

@RMTunion What is evident is how many people think Trainline is the only way to buy tickets. On line you’ll be nudged to Trainline in any ticket search before any TOC app. They play on a lack of awareness from the travelling public to make a profit.

Cllr Martin Abrams@Martin_Abrams

@RMTunion @thetrainline Also astounding that @thetrainline app has always hidden @TfL Oyster/Contactless fares thereby charging passengers hundreds of percentage points more than it would be on Oyster/Contactless. This fare from Watford to Streatham is 348% more expensive on their app 🤯

@philatrail Drivers are not provided with devices. Same as nearly every other TOC. Instead of trying to demonise unions, maybe get the facts. Drivers are not allowed to have any electronic devices on while working. So how would that work? Wait till you find out notices are still paper!

@AndyBurnhamGM @northernassist RDW agreement is only a short term fix. Relying totally on the good will of staff to volunteer to work the overtime. This issue is a national problem due to privatisation and the TOC's being allowed by the DFT to not recruit enough staff to operate a basic service.

Last night, there were widespread cancellations of @northernassist services causing chaos at stations. It can’t go on. Following a special Rail North Committee, I have written to the Chancellor to ask that a pending agreement on rest day working is approved as soon as possible.

@philatrail You do realise that the TOC's don't allow the use of electronic devices in the driving cabs and at most it's a sackable offence being caught with a device on in the driving cab. Nothing to do with unions but companies safety departments.

@NoJusticeMTG Being asked to contribute to a household when earning is life. My daughter has been asked to contribute once she started full-time employment. Why not, it teaches them responsibilities and that life isn't free.
