For the last 5 months, I’ve been working on Hazel, and I’m super excited to finally share a first open beta version: hazel.sh, try it out now! Fully open source as always of course github.com/HazelChat/hazel I started building Hazel because I’ve been super unhappy with work chat apps for quite some time. Slack feels lacking in a lot of areas, customization support feels limited, Discord is amazing but sadly feels way too unprofessional, and I don’t even want to talk about Teams… I knew it would be a fool’s task to try to build something to replace these tools, but I wanted to try anyway and quickly got obsessed. I kept grinding on it more and more, slowly chipping away at one thing after another, and I can finally say I’m happy enough to use Hazel over any of the other solutions for my day‑to‑day communication, it's far from perfect but in a state I would love to get some feedback to make this truly the best communication platform. I built Hazel from the ground up with @EffectTS_ , @ElectricSQL , and @tanstack db to not only make it really, really fun to develop, but also great to use and maintain. For now, some core features include: - Public / Private / DM channels - Threads & replies - Reactions & file uploads -A media explorer - A smart notification system …and much, much more. Hazel is far from done, but I hope I can inspire some of you to join me on this journey to do the impossible and build the Slack of the modern era.

Maple polishing continues Redesigned Maple's flowchart to be easier to track through, with custom cards for different span types and better labeling to easier extract any information you might be looking for

new cloudflare docs site just shipped and it's beautiful built using nimbus (a new documentation framework built entirely on top of astro)

Finally gave our Maple users favorite page a bit of extra love, service details now additionally show top traces, open issues, more data about recent deployments as well as more context about dependencies and overall stats

Really small but powerful change in Maple. Every service now has a unique color badge that visible anywhere in the UI be it in filters, in the service map etc. Made scanning through traces or filters sooo much easier for me

@dillon_mulroy I have written github.com/MapleTechLabs/… almost entirely with AI and am very happy with the overall quality and structure (still read all the code though :))

what are the best open source repos (in terms of quality) that have been written exclusively, or almost exclusively, by ai (bun excluded)

maple.dev now includes a full on @Cloudflare Integration, automatically syncing Zone Analytics as well as resource metrics like hyperdrive, queues, workers etc. making e2e observability even easier, allowing more advanced alerting, dashboards as well as making Maples AI Auto Triaging even more powerful

Think I'm going to start daily sharing some features Maple has, I have been shipping so much and have been doing such an awful job actually showcasing how powerful it's becoming

Mostly vanity metrics: Total commits (quantity != quality) GitHub stars (shows interest, not quality) npm downloads (inflated by CI + bots) Lines of code (more is usually worse, not better) Code coverage (can be 100% and still buggy)

When connected via the Github Integration Maple will automagically show you releases in charts with direct linked to the connected PR or commit
