Welcoming and appreciating local leaders for championing the SDGs within their communities, the Secretary-General emphasized the need to move from commitments on paper to real action. He noted, “You cannot achieve decent work and economic growth if good health and well-being is compromised.” #VoicesOfTheSDGs

On-site visit from our @grspartnership partners at the Secretariat. Reflecting on our shared successes and ongoing challenges is vital for moving the needle on road safety in Uganda. Our collective commitment remains stronger than ever.

We have learnt that the state is planning to carry out some disastrous activities, all of which will then be blamed on NUP. Previously we’ve seen the “fake bombs” and machete killings. It is sad how people get killed in such mess simply because someone is trying to make a ridiculous point! God help our nation.

I am sincerely grateful to the ordinary residents of Gulu as well as our security team for withstanding this savage brutality in order to protect us. Those criminals even beat up the police officers attached to our campaign. I am very grateful to the media who despite being attacked themselves, kept their cameras on. Perhaps if their cameras were not on, it could have been worse. UGANDA WILL BE FREE. #FreeUgandaNow

We are closely monitoring the illegal and deadly military interference targeting Uganda’s democratic process. The overwhelming majority of Ugandans are calling for an end to endemic corruption, unemployment, electoral fraud, repression and human rights abuses. Senior military officials publicly campaigning for the status quo—and using lethal force against peace- and stability-seeking citizens—undermine democracy and regional security. @_AfricanUnion @AcdhrsOrg @PI_AfricaHub @court_afchpr @ug_lawsociety @ealawsociety @hrw @StateDRL @EURightsAgency @IntlCrimCourt @FCDOGovUK @MODVA_UPDF @PoliceUg @HEBobiwine
