@markkennedysem

I like SEO colada's and reading comics in the rain. Very much into writing and Phillies games. I like link-building after midnight and PPC during the day...

just need a sanity check real quick- If I phrase match negative "cover", does that block me from showing up for queries that contain "recovery"?

@Pete_Bowen @AnthonyHigman Seeing the same as your fro truck accident lawyers, but for truck injury lawyers ads are there. I thought they might be defaulting to "injury lawyers," but truck ads are showing. So weird...

@adsliaison A suggestion/request... It would be SO helpful to have a "must include" option for phrase match keywords 🙏 Would save a LOT of time adding negatives to new campaigns with phrase match keywords. Example below (1/3) #ppcchat

@JimLeadGen I know it's extra work, but this is not a bad strategy. It allows you to control messaging in the ads in each territory. And you can split up the budgets if the client wants to focus more funds to one location. And some keywords may perform differently in each area. #ppcchat

#ppcchat, I have 10 campaigns for 10 different locations (had no choice). I convinced the client to switch to a shared bid strategy/budget. It's doing just ok. Would merging into one campaign perform significantly better?

It represents yet another shift towards a more dynamic search ads experience, where (maybe) in the future you provide assets for Google to mix and match as they see fit. A first hint towards a bigger announcement about Search Max in the future? Let me know your thoughts. #PPCChat

‼️ THIS JUST IN ‼️ Google is making Search ads smarter and more flexible using AI. They're improving Responsive Search Ads (RSAs) to automatically find the best combinations of your ad's headlines, descriptions, and other assets to show to different people. #PPCChat

This has been a hot mess. Still no option for Bank in Canada accounts and errors when I try to enter ACH in US accounts. I have a support ticket open and our reps on a thread that is bout 35 emails long. Out of 37 accounts, roughly half can't be verified and they are still working on it. The reps are pushing where they can as well. The only good news is that they extended the deadline for these accounts.

I was just told by a rep at Google that ALL Ads accounts must migrate away from CC payment before August 1st or they will be shut off. I was under the impression this only applied to some accounts. Lots of clients telling me they've seen nothing. Clarity @adsliaison ?

Is @GoogleAds really willing to lose 100% of the revenue over only getting 97% of it? I really want to test this. How is it even legal to selectively choose which clients you will accept credit cards from, and which ones you won't? #GoogleAds #ppcchat

@beyondthepaid @DavidKyle @GoogleAds Exactly! How many accounts will ignore/miss this and then stop running? Or even miss the deadline to get this done. So Google loses that revenue. Bad move.

@DavidKyle @GoogleAds Reminds me of a blog post I wrote years ago called "Google Doesn't Want My Money." This goes beyond even my wildest dreams though - an absolutely bonkers move on Google's part

@PPCKirk @theJoeShmow We got hit with 37, of those, 20 wouldn't accept the ACH as Google was not ready. In the middle of going back and forth with support to get these fixed. On top of that, one was in Canadian $ and that doesn't even have any other option but CC

@theJoeShmow yeah we're having other issues too in some accounts with the transition itself. Just a really bad idea by Google to implement right now.

@marksubel I have about 2-3 with the same issue. Google is terrible with this and now they are killing CC's as well. There has to be a risk of people permanently pausing

After some of my Google Ads accounts are verified, I'm getting a few that need to verify business operations, which take forever to reverify. Anyone lese in #ppcchat running into this? Mostly SMB accounts.

@CJSlattery It is either: 1) Gotta keep the team busy or the team gets cut OR 2) Dark patterns to make newer users use the platform differently (i.e. all the ways Google Ads wants you to) Or maybe it's both!

Really don't understand what the purpose was with the new Google Ads layout. What problem did it fix? What is it supposed to make easier and more intuitive?

@PPCGreg This Is The Thing I Was Looking For!!! In 2022, Google Ads REMOVED All Historical Query Data From ALL Accounts. I Have Some Theories. You Have Any Thoughts? #PPCchat

@AnthonyHigman @PPCGreg Exactly, it's right around that time when we saw an increase in traffic (especially mobile) that was matched to poor search queries, like competitor names, even if you weren't bidding on them. "Trust us".

Yes I concur. Although I think they did something sneaky here with that switch. In 2022 they removed ALL historical search term data from accounts. My theory is that when they did that HUGE move, they replaced that data with what they wanted keywords to match to predicatbly for "ai" historical search query data in accounts and how those queries matched to keywords is an enormously important factor of performance and auction dynamics. With that change to map out predictable paths for "ai" is how we got to here, where everything is a mess and automation is the massive push and hidding more and more data is the new norm until no data. My theory at least. think about it.
