@mbateman I've found that I can introduce anything I want to my kids and their level of involvement in it and excitement for it is directly related to mine. They have screens- and I'm right there involved in it with them. Exploring & teaching how to use them well. And they're teens now!

Obviously giving a tablet to a 4 year old is total madness. There is no upside for the child. It’s all downside. Parents do it for one reason and one reason only. To keep their kids quiet and docile so that they (the parents) can spend more time on their own devices.

I’m sort of skeptical of trendy parenting things PLUS I believe it’s hard to have strategies that work for everyone that said: replacing “sharing” with taking turns makes so much sense to me theoretically AND works so well for us in practice I am surprised every time an adult on the playground tries to strong arm their kid into sharing with my kids

He’s not telling people to sell their property to pay tithing. You missed the whole point. He needed money and that’s why he sold his car, but he asked for enough money to pay his debts AND tithing. God doesn’t expect everyone to sell their cars.
Also, why would the story trouble you? It’s his car. He can do whatever he wants with it. If you had heard a story about a man destroying his car just for fun, would it trouble you as well?

Letting our kids be kids also means getting back to the basics. That’s why, earlier this year, I signed into law a bipartisan bill that requires cursive handwriting to be taught in Pennsylvania schools.
It may seem strange, but cursive handwriting is a fundamental skill that all of our kids should learn.
They may not get why now, but that’s how they’ll sign their very first check — or maybe even someday, a bill that gets to the Governor’s desk (trust me, you’ll want good penmanship for that).
And it means they spend more time with a pen — not a tablet — in their hands at school.
