@darcybbc@andrewlawrence Because he was the headliner for all 3 nights and they would need to find up to 3 replacements of the a similar genre which would be nigh on impossible with 3 months to go
What I don’t get is why they have to cancel a whole festival because one not very good foreign rapper can’t make it to the stage. I went to a Wireless Festival in Hyde Park back in the day, New Order, etc. Can’t they get some English band to play in July? At a push I expect we’ll survive without it! 😱
Wireless Festival generates tens of millions of pounds in revenue, creates thousands of jobs, supports thousands of local businesses, brings in thousands of tourists. It is the type of creative endeavour that this country excels at. Those who have facilitated or supported its cancellation are vindictive arseholes who make life worse for us all.
Why is your app so bad?? You search for BA flights on it and it says there are some available and you link to the BA site where it says the complete opposite. Dreadful!

@swtrains_watch@SW_Help@BTP It already seems to be the norm unfortunately. You’re lucky if people are actually taking notice of you. The last time I said something to some gobby teenagers I just got derided and ‘how is it affecting you?’ which I didn’t have an answer for.
@martinfox00@SW_Help True, but unchallenged behaviour quickly becomes the norm. When I intervene respectfully, it usually works—noise stops or litter is moved. If passengers can manage this, there’s little excuse for guards not to try, provided they have the appropriate support from @BTP.
Weekend trains getting busier is a win for rail, but the experience is being ruined by a total lack of decorum. From loud music to food/drink strewn on floors & seats, it feels like the Wild West. Is there a plan to tackle this antisocial behaviour @SW_Help?
@yorkie456@swtrains_watch@SW_Help Whilst I agree with you, yet another recorded announcement will just add to the constant barrage and be ignored by the people it’s aimed at.
@swtrains_watch@SW_Help It’s about time train/bus companies started making announcements reminding travellers to take their rubbish with them, wear ear phones or turn it off, and just have respect for other passengers.
Surely the rule is:
If you sit next to someone on a train because it's busy, when the carriage empties out, you don't stay sat next to them like you're two pensioners on a day trip, you move. Right?
@kelvmackenzie Since nationalisation, SWR’s ‘On Time’ goal is shifting to a lenient 3-min window, masking daily delays. Worse, the Govt is weighing plans to scrap Delay Repay for anything under 30 mins—stripping our rights just as performance hits record lows. No fines, no accountability!
Thanks to a helpful member of the railway staff I learn that since SWR was nationalised last year the number of train cancellations and delays has increased by 80%. How bad is that?
The reason, I discover, is that in the days it was commercially run, the SWR management had to pay a fine to state-owned Network Rail every time a train was cancelled.
Since Labour took control it was
decided the fines should be scrapped.
The inevitable result of no penalties is that there is no pressure of the management to deliver, which means every time you go to the station ( mine’s Weybridge) it’s a lottery.
Grateful if our useless local Tory MP Ben Spenser might do something on behalf of the the important voter/commuters in his constituency and ask Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander why our train service has collapsed since nationalisation.
My advice is to read this tweet before telling lies to the Commons.
Absolutely no one with any sense believes that drilling for oil and gas in the North Sea will make our bills cheaper.
No one.
So why are Reform and the Tories still trying to push this.
It’s absurd.
It is a lie.
So stop fucking lying.
@Champs707007 I actually miss them. Having to travel on the awful 450s instead makes the journey much less appealing. My face lit up when these 455s appeared for the 07:48 DKG - WAT one day last week. Sadly it was a one-off though.
