@abooker17 Agree with all you said but MLS is desperate for the big splash money making ideas. Same thing with the AppleTV deal. Big money but overall not good for the league right now.

In my opinion, allowing something like this to happen is way bigger than just a community losing its club, which is already a travesty on every single level.

This is a potential future-altering crossroads for the league and the sport in this region in my opinion. All of the expansion and movement in the 90s and early 2000s was one thing for a brand new league with little funding… (continued in thread)

@Mike_Leach1976 All we ask for is a competitive team. From an ownership with big pockets and a league that makes it easy to compete it’s almost impossible to fail but they have.

In a way I feel for #TFCLive These are Argos sized crowds. The weather for nearly all of these games has been terrible. The Gardiner is closed, I get it. The players deserve better, but MLSE has done this to itself.

A lot was made week 1 of the improved Apple TV viewership for MLS, but they're still not running enough ads. Maybe by mid-season they'll sell more spots off the back of those numbers but as of now they're almost certainly making less money than they were before.

@TouchlineTFC Once those players are fit, others will be injured. This team does not have the depth to do be successful. With Vanney, there was a cohesive identity of the first team and bench where if a sub came on the drop-off was not significant.

Of course they’ll be much stronger once Sargent, Pereira, Monlouis, Gomis and eventually Corbeanu are able to start. That’s half their starting lineup missing. The real question is, how long is too long? We can’t be speaking about a hypothetical lineup on Matchday 10. #TFCLive

@WolstatSun Sports in the US building amazing arenas and stadiums, going over salary caps and we here cost cutting all our teams and building metal bleachers and call them stadiums. Not a good sign for any championships north of the border in the future.

Make no mistake, MLSE is in a cost-cutting mode. Not going full scale cheap, but not looking to spend huge money on execs. That's significant part of reason Shanahan and Ujiri are out.
