@Coachjonhughes @NDominator Thanks for this, Coach. Last spring I tried GPT, Grok, and Gemini and none were 100% accurate parsing results. I need to give it another try.

@mattapesos This definitely sounds like a problem AI could help you tackle. Did a quick example. Times in the excel file I made up. @NDominator

Track Coaches: What is your current most time consuming part of your workflow, or frustrating workflow you deal with frequently? Logging workout results, calculating individual paces for workouts, laying out weekly or monthly plans in an easy to read manner, analyzing race results, finding race models to help show athletes, etc?

Of note: If this insanity passes (and @BrianKempGA should *absolutely* veto it the moment it hits his desk if it does), ATL sunrise in January would be as late as 8:45. Meaning the morning commute would be *in the dark* AND (at times) on the ice. What a disaster.

#gapol I will personally *beg* friends and family in Ga to vote for literally *anyone* else against anyone who votes/ voted for this abomination. We need permanent REAL - *STANDARD* - time!
Save Standard Time@SaveStandard

@rahulbali @wabenews @GASenatePress @LtGovJonesGA @patricksaunders @DitchDst @AASMorg Georgians, tell your state house reps to OPPOSE HB 154 👉 votervoice.net/ditchDST/Campa… 👈 It would put sunrise past 8am for FOUR MONTHS, to nearly 9AM! It cost lives when last tried! Amend to permanent EST to keep sunrise before 8am for safety!

Five years ago, Georgia passed a bill to end Daylight Saving Time, but federal law blocked it. The new bill tries a workaround by shifting the state to Atlantic Standard Time to keep the same time year round, pending federal approval.

I do record splits for 800 and up, but I don't keep them for in depth analysis or trends like I would like to. I would also like to be able to see the Milesplit PRs of everyone on another team (not just top in each event), but I don't think that's possible. Haven't messed around with the API so not sure if I could get it that way.

At the most basic level, in MileSplit I go through each athlete's results recording place, time/mark, and points (splitting relay points equally) into a spreadsheet. Then I ID PRs and top 10 all-time team performances. Summarize the meet, and highlight key performances including all PRs to send to athletes and parents. We have 60 athletes. It takes every bit of 4 hours to get it all sorted out.

Can someone explain why some 10 year old needs to travel hundreds of miles for competition that they almost certainly could have found locally? Travel leagues for youth sports should be banned.

@SpoonofHead @stevemagness If you want to look like a novice runner, carry the water. An experienced runner needing water is going to plan their run around water stops.

@stevemagness Tip for novice runners while you don't need water on most runs, there is no harm in taking water or any drink with you. Running is a hobby for most so make it as fun as you want.

Tip for novice runners: You do not need to carry/drink water on most of your runs. As long as you're hydrated going in, you'll be fine. You don't need water on a 60min run. Save lugging around hydration stuff for long runs.

@sweetmomissa Imagine you and your little brother/sister cheer for opposing teams. It's only natural to give them a hard time (be a jerk) when your team beats theirs, but you still love 'em. It works both ways too.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but you can be happy your team won and not be a jerk to the team that lost.

@other_st_nick The last team that tried that got @koreydropkin as their coach and won the five-and-under national championship in their third year. Not quite Olympic level, but they're better than most teams.

@sportswildwind @thevivafrei Bruh... Any decent curler knows when they're a tenth light. I can also tell you based on laser measurement that my release adds .10 to .15 to the stone over a normal release. Yes, in a game of feel, we train for that.

@thevivafrei Do you know how good he would have to be to do that calculation in his head and know that he needs to add 0.1 seconds of force? Come on, what are we doing here.

I will not treat this comment as if it’s made in bad faith, but only out of ignorance to the nature of the sport. In curling, they measure the time of the release from the hack (the foots stop they kick off ) to releasing the stone. A difference of 0.1 seconds can translate into to 12 inches of carry on the stone. If you realize you aee0.1 seconds short after releasing the handle, a gentle nudge on the granite could therefore translate into 6 to 12 inches, possibly more, of carry along the ice. Do you now understand how a gentle nudge can have serious impact on the outcome of the stone? @MobyDickSpoiler

I genuinely can't believe people are taking the curling scandal so seriously. No one can seem to explain how touching the rock with your fingertip would help! How can it be cheating if it doesn't do anything?
