What your children really want for dinner is you! In an age of constant online connection, we may need to disconnect from technologies and other distractions to truly reconnect with our families. Families grow stronger when they set aside these distractions and spend meaningful time together—learning eternal values like the importance of marriage and children, the purpose of life, and the true source of joy. Parents also have a duty to teach their children practical knowledge apart from gospel principles. Families unite when they do meaningful things together. Happy family experiences strengthen family ties. Camping, sports activities, and other recreation are especially valuable for bonding families. Some may say, “But we have no time for any of that.” To find time to do what is truly worthwhile, many parents will find that they can turn their families on if they all turn their technologies off. What those we love need most is simply time with us. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, is our ultimate role model. He will help us as we strive to build these family bonds.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
A new temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been announced for Otavalo, Ecuador, bringing another house of the Lord to the Andes region. Elder Juan Pablo Villar of the South America Northwest Area Presidency made the announcement on behalf of the First Presidency on Thursday, May 14, 2026, during an evening devotional in Otavalo with local Latter-day Saints. “We are pleased to announce the construction of a temple in Otavalo, Ecuador,” the First Presidency statement says. “The specific location and timing of the construction will be announced later. This is a reason for all of us to rejoice and express gratitude for such a significant blessing — one that will allow more frequent access to the ordinances, covenants and power that can only be found in the house of the Lord.” Elder Dale G. Renlund (@DaleGRenlund) of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles presided at the devotional. He was joined by Elder S. Mark Palmer of the Presidency of the Seventy. Attitude is a choice. Gratitude is a discipline. Bitterness is expensive. Nobody accidentally has a great attitude. Nobody stumbles into gratitude. And nobody means to end up bitter, it just quietly moves in when you stop choosing something better. Guard your peace like it cost you something. Because it did.

Overcoming doubt—resolving conflicts between the evolving understanding of science and the sometimes-incomplete teachings of religion can be a lengthy process. And while you wait, wait upon the Lord, which includes trusting in His timing as well as His promises.

My mother was an example of pure goodness. Her expectations motivated me. Almost every action I made was measured against the thought, “I do not want to disappoint my mom.” Together with my father, my parents anchored our home in the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It was the foundation of our lives. I will always be grateful for my mother’s righteous influence on me early in my life. I am equally grateful to my Lesa and the wonderful mother she has always been for our children.

Today, my counselors in the First Presidency and I were grateful for the opportunity to visit the Salt Lake Temple, which has been undergoing a significant renovation since 2020.   We look forward to welcoming people from throughout the world during the Salt Lake Temple Celebration and open house, to be held from April through October 2027.   Above all, we look forward to teaching about the sacred purposes of temples throughout the world. In the temple, faithful men and women receive divine instruction, sacred responsibilities, and spiritual power.   It is in the temple that eternal covenants are made that bind us and our families to our Heavenly Father and to one another for eternity.

@mattfreddy29 You've been saying since the early part of last season that they needed to fire the hitting coach they hired in November?

"If a staff is not fearing you and is not fearful of missing in the heart of the plate, naturally, the walk rates are going to be lower." A look at the biggest of many issues for the Giants right now ... they're historically bad at drawing walks: nbcsportsbayarea.com/mlb/san-franci…

@PavlovicNBCS My bad, I’ve been saying we need to change our hitting coach since last season. Clearly didn’t realize this was a new guy. Both not getting the job done.

@glmz88 @GiantHotTakes One Giants hitter had a 3-1 count yesterday. They aren’t even seeing the ball, let alone hitting the ball. Our batting coach needs to go.

I'm a 55 year old, highly educated, practicing attorney. I've read the Book of Mormon more times than I can count. I've spent thousands of hours studying the Old and New Testaments, as well as LDS Church doctrine and history. I've read the revelation, writings, and papers of Joseph Smith and many books written about him, by members and non members alike. I've read or heard virtually every piece of anti Mormon material imaginable. I've attended thousands of hours of church services, sunday school classes, seminary programs, college level religion courses, and devoted two years exclusively to study and preaching as an ordained minister. I've literally devoted much of my life to the pursuit of gospel knowledge. Most importantly, I've received divine confirmation from the Holy Ghost that Joseph Smith is a prophet and that the Book of Mormon is true. But yeah, with all due respect random anonymous Twitter guy, forgive me if I don't take your word for it that my religion is false.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has provided an updated exterior rendering of the Buenos Aires City Center Argentina Temple. In a recent general conference, President Dallin H. Oaks taught about the purpose of worshiping in sacred houses of the Lord. “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is constructing temples all over the world. Their purpose is to bless the covenant children of God with temple worship and with the sacred responsibilities and powers and unique blessings of being bound to Christ they receive by covenant,” @OaksDallinH said. Even after doing all we are able, sometimes life still does not turn out the way we hoped it would. Singleness, childlessness, death, chronic illness, mental health challenges, divorce, and myriad other circumstances in mortality can feel debilitating to our eternal progression—but Jesus Christ will make up the difference in His own way and in His own time. We have a Savior who has taken upon Himself not just the sins but also “the pains and the sicknesses of his people … that he many know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities” (Alma 7:11–12). The Lord has promised that in the eternities no blessing will be denied His sons and daughters who keep the commandments, are true to their covenants, and desire what is right.
