I've been using @cursor_ai's background agents since day one. They more than 10x'd my productivity. But over time, I got frustrated with the hours I spent babysitting them. So I built my own parallel agent platform. Here's what I learned 🧵

@addyosmani The only surprising thing is that you're writing about it in future tense. If you're interviewing for an engineering role in 2025 and you're not allowed to use AI, the role and company just failed the reverse interview.

I expect coding with AI to become part of software engineering interviews as well. As AI makes working prototypes easier, the differentiator becomes judgment and critical thinking. Interviewers will still probe problem solving and will verify that you understand the AI generated code and can fix issues, so folks may read unfamiliar code, explain how it works, and repair a bug live. AI will be treated as just another part of your toolbox. Aim to be the person who can turn ambiguity into a shippable, observable prototype with AI as a tool rather than a crutch.

@ChadMoran Turning off spatial audio is key, at least with Apple. The sound stage just does not work with atmos. Gimmicky sound. Mostly from the center dash channel, until a chorus when suddenly the stage is different and unbalanced depending on seat. With it off, it’s merely a fine system

@joshcharles_21 Just takes time, slowly. Helped me to have another puppy there, which was the argument that convinced me to rescue Luca, knowing I had weeks left with Dash. Best decision I ever made - Luca and I rescued each other and our bond is stronger than I could ever have imagined.

@Hilbe 2/3 of those ingredients do basically nothing. One is even about to be pulled from the market. Go get some real, old school Sudafed from behind the pharmacy counter. It works.

@theJacko Skin-tac (and tac-away) wipes are your friend for the falling off part. That model of cgm basically requires them.

Welp. 3rd time was not the charm. Lasted abt 72 hrs until it lost connection. The 1st one lasted abt 48 hrs and fell off while working out. The 2nd one lasted less than 24 hrs and same, during a workout. I guess it is just not meant to be - the data was neat tho while it lasted.

@mattsmcnulty Man, I'd be pissed if I invested that much into Nest Secure and outfitted my house only for it to be killed a few years later. Money, time, reputation...and a pile of perfectly good devices made redundant. Too bad there wasn't some OSS cut of the FW or something like that!

@mattsmcnulty Yeah, terrible product strategy. Meanwhile a low tech z-wave system from 14 years ago continues to work fine. All these new wifi devices are landfill trash until Thread/Matter work out.
