This is a hard article to read, but I hope you'll do so. I've spent some time reporting on widespread rape and other sexual violence of Palestinian male and female prisoners by Israeli authorities, and the article is now published. The assault victims were warned not to give speak of what they endured -- they were sometimes told they would be killed or raped if they gave interviews -- but they found the courage to do so. One man described being raped three times in a single day in Israeli prison, the third time after he tried to protest. A young woman said the guards would come in at the beginning of each shift and strip her naked and abuse her. Another reported that she was shown photos of herself being raped and warned they would be released unless she cooperated with Israeli intelligence. Even three children who had been detained told me they had been sexually abused. Look, whatever our position on the Middle East, we should be able to agree on being anti-rape. Sexual assaults were horrific when Israeli women were targeted on Oct. 7, and they're equally horrific when Israeli authorities use them against Palestinians day after day after day. We should be able to find common ground in opposing rape. Here's a gift link to the article: nytimes.com/2026/05/11/opi…

Doctors say that fluoride helps build strong teeth. A guy who snorts cocaine off toilet seats and takes raccoon penises home for “further study” says it causes autism. For busy parents, it can be hard to know who to trust.

At midnite last nite DJT shared an old video clip of a New Mexico supporter saying this: "I've come to a place where I've come to the conclusion that the only good Democrat is a dead Democrat" But don't worry, y'all. If he really meant it he woulda written it out in seashells.

Evangelical Christian leaders literally gathering around a gold statue of the president and celebrating it, all while raging against any accusation of idolatry. This is what idol worship looks like.

COLBERT: How dumb do you think it is for people to say that I should run for president? OBAMA: Well, you know, the bar has changed. I think you would perform significantly better than some folks we've seen. COLBERT: Is that an endorsement? OBAMA: It was not

Trump is now describing in some detail the Montreal Cognitive Test, which doctors use to spot the early signs of dementia, and which he proudly declared his doctors have made him take three times. He thinks it’s an intelligence test.

Despite its goal of 100% clean energy by 2040, Michigan has more local restrictions on renewable energy than any other state. “Practically nowhere in the country has seen more conflict” about solar development, a research center found. propublica.org/article/michig…

“You cannot threaten the free world and lead it at the same time. No nation can match American might, but for the first time in my adult life, the moral and strategic heart of the defense of liberal democracy doesn’t beat in Washington. It doesn’t beat in London or Paris or Berlin or Ottawa, either. It’s in Kyiv, where a courageous leader and a courageous people have picked up the torch America has dropped.” #SlavaUkraini

“It’s a war.” That’s what Todd Blanche told the Federalist Society a few months ago while asking lawyers to join the fight against “rogue activist judges” — even as violent threats against judges rise. He’s the last person who should lecture anyone on dangerous rhetoric.
Aaron Rupar@atrupar

Blanche: "Many people in this room have done it as well. They're just as guilty as a lot of people on X. When you have reporters, when you have media just being overly critical and calling the president horrible names for no reason and without evidence, it shouldn't surprise us that this type of rhetoric takes place."

Melissa Hortman was killed by a Trump supporter. The first person to allegedly take a shot at Trump was a registered Republican. Every study shows more political violence from the right than the left. But sure, other than that, great tweet, totally factual and not cynical BS.
Matt Walsh@MattWalshBlog

Leftists have tried to kill the president three times now. They killed Charlie. They've shot up churches and Christian schools and rioted in the streets. They are the party of terrorism. Political violence comes from one side. How much longer will we allow these people to wage war on the country?
