🚨 WHOA: Did Thomas Massie & MTG Admit they're running in 2028? I think so!
Massie: "I hope I don't lose for America's sake, but if I do, I'm going to come down & visit you."
MTG: "I hope you do. Then we'll re-plan how to get this country back on track in a real way, & I bet you we would have 10s of millions of Americans with us."
Neither of them can dance around the topic when asked if they're both running for POTUS/Vice POTUS in 2028. There's no other plan they could be cooking up that would require 10s of millions of Americans being behind them.
What a Joke this ticket would be! One guy is on the verge of getting fired by his district & the other candidate ABANDONED her district when it got too challenging.

@mikequasar @Rothmus @Objectobot Huhm, I don't think you get what I'm saying, read up on "Galt's Gulch". This is funny because the Gulch was effectively made invisible to outsiders and mountains around it made it almost impossible to get into.

One of the reasons I would think AI can’t be conscious is because it lacks any capacity for sensory experience. We come to know ourselves through our experience of the outside world. We can see this process play out with newborn babies. First they stare perplexed at their own hand because they don’t understand that their body is their own. Over time they come to see that they are beings distinct from everything around them. Sensory experience is necessary for this learning process. Imagine a person who is born unable to see or hear or taste or touch or smell or interact physically with the outside world in any way at all. How could such a person ever achieve anything like what we consider consciousness? So along with all the other hurdles, that is a rather giant one that any AI system faces. Any “consciousness” of a non-sensory, non-embodied system, would be so alien to us that we’d need an entirely different word to describe it.

Okay you can chuckle snidely or actually take part in the conversation. You seem to prefer the former, which is your choice. I would say that consciousness is the awareness and experience of the self as a self. I can’t tell you exactly how it works but I think that’s what it is. If you have a different definition you could always suggest it.

I don’t care what polls supposedly say. The Epstein files come up in real life so often that I have burnout. Anyone saying this isn’t important is lying, or incredibly stupid. It’s one of the top subjects that come up, even people who aren’t hardcore political.
