Studying history gives us a chance but not a certainty, to not repeat it. 🧐📜🍷🙂🖖 Cherry-picking qualifies one to identify cherries. Making jam, a cherry pie, a haiku or a cherry-Schnaps is another step in evolution you can choose to take. Or not. Learn about cherries. 🍒.

This is Warrick Dunn, who became the head of his family at 18 and later turned that loss into more than 250 homes for single mothers. On January 7, 1993, two days after his eighteenth birthday, his mother, Baton Rouge police Cpl. Betty Smothers, was sh*t and k*lled in an ambush while working an off-duty security job, escorting a store manager to make a night bank deposit. Suddenly the oldest of six with no parent, Dunn raised his five younger siblings and used his mother's life insurance to buy them a home so the family would not be split apart. He still reached Florida State University, became the first Seminole with three straight 1,000-yard rushing seasons, and was drafted 12th overall by Tampa Bay in 1997. That rookie year, to honor his mother's dream of homeownership, he founded Homes for the Holidays for single-parent families. As of 2026, his charity has furnished more than 250 move-in-ready homes for single mothers and their children.

Jimmy Carr on managing anxiety: “Give yourself more to do. Anxiety is trying to solve a problem in the future now, and you can’t.” When you’re in the gym or focused on an immediate task, anxiety fades because you have something to deal with right now. A simple, practical tip from someone who’s been there. What do you think, does staying busy help you manage anxiety?

🚨Former BlackRock fund manager Ed Dowd says "China is hoarding copper," which "indicates [it] might be getting ready for war" Dowd paints a GRIM picture of China, noting that its real estate market is "a disaster" and that it's "in a deflationary death spiral because of [its] demographics" "just because they're hoarding doesn't mean the war is imminent. It just means that they're... getting ready for something" "[But] as their economy continues to crumble, they're having the problem of consumers that are doing well... not spending—their saving and hoarding" "[and] there's going to be a lot of unemployed Chinese as we roll forward" This clip of Dowd (@DowdEdward) is taken from an interview with CapitalCosm (@CapitalCosm) posted to YouTube on July 14, 2026. ----------------Partial transcription of clip-------------- "We think China is hoarding copper. China is taking— they're buying real assets. They keep printing money to the tune of 10% a year, and they're converting a lot of their trade surpluses into real assets. So they're hoarding. "Look, if you're going to hoard copper, that indicates you might be getting ready for war as well. So there seems to be a hoarding issue going on there. It's not an indication that things are really well in the economy. They continue to just buy and stockpile. "You know, look, just because they're hoarding doesn't mean the war is imminent. It just means that they're just— they're getting ready for something, and they're buying real assets. "One of the biggest problems we have with China is they're 47% of the global money supply. People don't know that... But they have very low velocity of money. That's why— and they're in a deflationary death spiral because of their demographics. So what they're doing with their money, in aggregate, is buying real assets. "And... I think our velocity of money is 1.5. China's I think is point .4 or .6. Much lower than ours. That's why, that's why you're not seeing any inflation in China. In fact, it's the opposite. The savings rate in China is exploding. There's no safety net there. "And as their economy continues to crumble, they're having, they're having the problem of the consumers that are doing well are not spending, their saving and hoarding. "[And the real estate market is] a disaster. But what held them up, the disaster started in 2021, but they had a bunch of long-lived projects that— so construction had only rolled 20%, whereas land, new permitting was down 70, 80%. So that's now starting to roll. "We saw construction year over year go negative in Q1 of this year. So those projects are now rolling off, and all they care about is employment, so there's going to be a lot of unemployed Chinese as we roll forward."

On September 11, 2001, Howard Lutnick was supposed to be at work on the 101st floor of the North Tower. Instead, he was taking his 6-year-old son to his first day of kindergarten, a decision that unknowingly saved his life. That morning, Cantor Fitzgerald lost 658 employees, including Lutnick's younger brother, Gary, and his best friend, Douglas Gardner. The company suffered the single greatest loss of life of any business in the 9/11 attacks. Determined to honor those who never came home, Lutnick pledged that Cantor Fitzgerald would devote 25% of its profits for five years to the victims' families while also covering their healthcare for a decade. In the years that followed, the firm fulfilled that promise, distributing more than $180 million to the families of the 658 employees it lost. Lutnick also made another promise: every child of a Cantor Fitzgerald employee killed on 9/11 would be offered a job if they wanted one. By 2016, 57 of those children had joined the company. What began as one of the darkest days in the firm's history became a long-term commitment to the families left behind. More than two decades later, Cantor Fitzgerald's annual Charity Day continues to raise millions for charitable causes, keeping the memory of those 658 employees alive through acts of generosity rather than words alone.

Nicole is saying every major Big Tech Company was Created and funded by DARPA Google, Facebook, Apple, Microsoft, etc These companies didn’t just spring up out of nowhere, they all came from secret government funding, funneled through the “Silicon Valley Stanford Networt”.
N.A.S@Nicoles_oficial

Every major Big Tech Company was Created and funded by DARPA. If you look at where some of those grants or funding came from, it all comes directly from people with ties to the government All those from rags to riches success stories are potentially bs?

This was bound to happen eventually: Žižek presents Peter Thiel as proof that progressivism can be appropriated by neo-fascist libertarians. He also claims Thiel introduced JD Vance to Girard’s work. Žižek has entered into a direct intellectual confrontation with Palantir.
