New York is moving to eliminate state taxes on tips — building on what workers fought for and won at the federal level. DoorDash joined a broad coalition today urging Albany to get this done. For the thousands of New Yorkers who dash, this is real money back in their pockets at a time when it counts.

4/ And for businesses across the country, DoorDash helps them grow beyond their four walls. Just ask Adam Moon of Lazy Daisy in L.A. One of his locations alone generates around $500K in revenue through the platform.

What's happening in the economy where you live? New from DoorDash, our latest State of Local Commerce update shows: • Breakfast Basics are down 22% year-over-year, driven largely by a steep drop in egg prices. • Restaurant price growth is stabilizing, and closely tracking the latest national trends. • Most importantly, the real story is variation: A cheeseburger meal costs just $12.47 in Lincoln, NE and affordable deals can be found in many cities across the country. The best public policy outcomes happen when government and industry build together. That's exactly what we did in Fremont. DoorDash and the City of Fremont took a huge step to bring Dot, our autonomous, all-electric delivery robot, to local streets through a structured, phased deployment with community engagement built in from day one. Built in Fremont, for Fremont. Proud of the DoorDash Labs team and grateful to Mayor Raj Salwan and the City of Fremont for their partnership in making this a reality.

Gas prices are 🔺 We’ve heard from Dashers who are feeling the pinch at the pump. That's why @DoorDash is launching an emergency relief program to help: Dashers can get 10% cash back when they buy gas with their DoorDash Crimson card - 5X standard saving. Dashers can also earn weekly relief payments up to $15 based on how many miles they drive while dashing. Similar programs live outside the USA. about.doordash.com/en-us/news/gas…

Fremont has been building the future for decades, including building Dot — DoorDash's autonomous delivery robot. So it feels only right that Dot should deliver here too. Excited to have the green light to deliver in Fremont. Autonomous delivery isn't just cool tech, it's about giving local small businesses the same cutting-edge capabilities as the biggest players in commerce. That's what we're here to do. Thanks to Mayor @RajSalwan and the Economic Development and Public Works teams at the City of @Fremont_CA for your partnership. We’re just getting started! nbcbayarea.com/news/local/doo…

Nutritious food is key to a healthy life, but access isn’t always easy. For someone managing a chronic condition, finding time for grocery store trips between care can be difficult. Or for someone living on fixed incomes, fresh fruits and vegetables can be harder to come by. That’s where delivery makes the difference. During National Nutrition Month, we’re spotlighting how DoorDash is helping people put healthy food on the table. Through Project DASH, we partner with food banks and health care providers to strengthen food-as-medicine programs, delivering medically-tailored groceries to patients managing chronic conditions so they can build healthier habits at home. We’re proud to work alongside our Project DASH partners and policymakers to make nutritious food more accessible, this month and every month. about.doordash.com/en-us/news/doo…

Today’s proposal by @USDOL @SecretaryLCD and @Sonderling47 meets workers where they are — millions of Americans choose independent work on platforms like DoorDash for flexibility and autonomy, and their voices should be respected. That should be the starting point for policy innovation. Now’s the time to protect independent work and make it better through policies like portable benefits. Let’s go! about.doordash.com/en-us/news/doo…

The USDA's food desert data still uses 2019 numbers. Let that sink in. We're using pre-pandemic data to understand how Americans access food in 2026. That's a problem. The traditional definition? Right now, if a low-income census tract where a significant portion of the population has limited access to a supermarket or large grocery store, that means you're in a food desert. Full stop. But here's what that completely ignores: Now about 95% of people living in those same "food deserts" can now get groceries delivered through DoorDash. Same-day delivery. Digital SNAP/EBT. Fresh groceries without a car, without a bus route, without burning an hour each way. We need data that reflects reality and how the digital infrastructure has changed what was true years ago. Not the reality of 2019, but the one people are living in right now. It matters for policymaking, and it matters for people. DoorDash data can help fill that gap. #data" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">ers.usda.gov/data-products/…

Last week, @RepMikeLawler joined the @DoorDashImpact team to see how Project DASH is meeting the need across Westchester County. Project DASH’s partnership with @FeedingWestchester delivers meals to Medicaid recipients through NY State’s 1115 Medicaid Waiver. This is critical work that provides essential nutrition to homebound seniors and people facing disabilities, and it’s only made possible thanks to the strong collaboration between the government and the private sector. It’s moments like this that remind me that the fight against hunger is a team effort, and I’m proud that DoorDash can play a part in driving real impact in communities across America.
Congressman Mike Lawler@RepMikeLawler

I had the opportunity to join Feeding Westchester and DoorDash this week to help deliver meals to our community. This partnership makes it possible to bring food directly to the front doors of those who need it most. I’m grateful to have been part of such an impactful effort.

Hunger in America is a policy choice. There is enough food in this country to make sure everyone can put a meal on the table. Yet there are still seniors all across the country — 7 million of them — who are needlessly going without meals, simply because they cannot get to local food banks or pantries. That’s why I am so encouraged by today’s introduction of the Delivering for Rural Seniors Act in the Senate by @SenMarkKelly and @SenJonHusted. At its core, this bill comes down to keeping people fed. It means that there will be funding for food banks to try new ways to get food boxes to seniors in need. We cannot and should not settle for the way things have always been done when it comes to feeding the most vulnerable in our communities. Today is a first step, but boy it’s an important one. about.doordash.com/en-us/news/drs…

Data doesn't lie. Total earnings per overall hour for NYC delivery workers nearly DOUBLED. DCWP report cherrypicks data on tips, while ignoring total pay has skyrocketed.
Adam Kovacevich@adamkovac

@DouglasLFarrar @saalevine I looked at NYC's own data, right before the wage law went into effect compared to most recent disclosed quarter. Pre-law, avg earnings per driver = $182.82 Post-law, avg earnings per driver = $418.66 If there was a scheme it didn't work.
