📋 CAAS vs UOI — SCA/16428/2025 Status Update | 27th April 2026 On 7th April 2026, the Hon'ble Gujarat High Court had directed CBDT to file an affidavit suggesting remedial measures, noting 11 years of non-compliance with the Court's own 2015 direction to release ITR utilities by 1st April every year. On 27th April 2026, no affidavit was filed by CBDT. Court noted the "complexity involved in the issues raised" involving "multi-stakeholder, multi-tiered institutional process." Matter now listed on 23rd June 2026 — after Summer Vacation. Open letter to Indians in America. -- Dear brothers and sisters from Bharat: Like I did 37 years ago, you arrived in America with no money but with a good education and cultural heritage from Bharat. You achieved outstanding success. America was good to us. For that we must remain grateful - gratitude is our Bharatiya way. Yet today, a significant number of Americans, may be not the majority but not too far from it either, believe that Indians "take away" American jobs and our success in America was unfairly earned. You may think the next election will fix this, but your choice would be between people who hate our Bharatiya civilisation and people who hate civilisation itself. That is the "hard right" vs "woke left" battle. You are mere bystanders to that conflict. Meanwhile there is one thing that is true now and will be true in the future: the respect Indians command world-wide will substantially depend on the fortunes of India herself. If India remains poor, the woke left will give us moral lectures with pity and the hard right, different moral lectures with scorn ("hellhole") and we must not confuse either with respect. Respect in today's world, along with prosperity and security, comes from one source: a nation's technological prowess. India produces sufficient brain power to achieve that prowess but alas we exported so much of that talent, particularly to America. As we develop that prowess in India, our civilisational strength will assert itself. As difficult as it is for many of you to contemplate this, please come back home. Bharat Mata needs your talent. Banks are asking for various certificates from a CA like for opening a Current account, KYC , Utilisation of funds , signing of Financial statements etc which are not in conformity of ICAI rules and hence should not be issued except in consonance of ICAI rules. Still many banks demand the same which is illegal on their part. To settle this issue faced regularly by Chartered Accountants, CA Niting Hargude has filed a RTI with RBI asking for sanctity of asking for such certificates, RBI has opined that it has not issued any such guidelines. When approached by a Pvt bank, I have asked for Internal regulation that warrants such certificate they are demanding which they could not provide. This shows these all certificates are demanded without and legal requirement or internal instructions of the bank and hence we should avoid issuing any such certificates in supersession of ICAI rules. Hello Mam. Form is to be filed within 30 days of quarter end. If your transaction or agreement is being done in the month of April 2026, the payment of tax needs to be done by 7 May 2026 and TDS return shall be filed after June 2026... upto 31 July 2026! There is no need to panic as all TDS forms will definitely be released by ITD as and when the due dates are near... 🙏🏻

I can vouch for this ICICI Bank is also asking, upon asking to email the format, they just shared on whatsApp! To my surprise, now they are sharing PDFs instead of word file so even we CAs cant edit the non-ceritifiable parts! How can a CA certify the future use of funds??
