@GloTheMessenger @mccartycards @eBay @UPS This is why I’m hesitant to sell my 1/1s on eBay. Especially the ones worth 1k or more. Not only do they take a big cut and delay payment while authenticating, you have to pay 💰 to insure item.
English

@mccartycards @eBay @UPS I thought original story was believed that buyer was lying? Why do you think it was stolen through supply chain now?
English

@DunkOnDumb @eBay @UPS He provided document proof to eBay and the police that the item was missing. I can’t refute that.
English

@mccartycards @eBay @UPS What a dipshit 🤣 honestly you deserve to be stolen if you think you can just buy a 50,000 card over the internet in this day and age. If you got 50k to buy a piece of card stock, then you can fly your ass over and pick it up in person. What an idiot. 💀

@mccartycards @eBay @UPS I would never, ever, ship something that valuable. You definitely should have canceled the international sale and sold it in the states. Then drove that card to hand to them in person. 50k? Sheesh.

@notbarry1 @menacemmahq @InvestinDaily @FeuxManning @eBay @UPS True, but if I remember there was a massive storm hitting the east coast at this time. Projected several feet of snow…. Weatherman was wrong
English

@menacemmahq @mccartycards @InvestinDaily @FeuxManning @eBay @UPS It would but how often will you get the chance for a trip to China whilst making 50k?
Even if you spent 5k on return flights and hotels and spending money then you’ve probably still made a profit and had a great holiday too.
English

@Square1Stock @PrattMattx @eBay @UPS I have an official police report and the platform @eBay stated the item has been stolen. That’s all it takes for something like this. It won’t be hard at all. Waiting on @UPS tho taking their time

Deactivation of a PSA cert is incredibly difficult - even in these circumstances. There are many known counterfeit cards that not only did PSA authenticate but they also refuse to deactivate despite being shown concrete evidence that it is fake. And the ones that are deactivated require a lot of effort, convincing and connections to the right people.
The card can and will be sold separate from an auction company. Nothing forces anybody to use an auction service. Not every single collector, vendor, investor, etc stays fully updated every single day on what cards have been stolen recently. In fact a majority do not know at all. Theres a silly amount of people who have the money and interest in buying something like this without knowing this context in regards to the card.
To think that it cant or wont easily be sold is extremely naive. This card is very much long gone.
Tough learning experience.

@SeverinsCards @coryare3 @eBay @UPS The manager/owner of a UPS store handled it completely and sealed. They have a pack and ship guarantee at the store. The whole reason I did it was because I would be covered if something were to happen…. I wouldn’t be covered with a 10k eBay insurance.
English

At this exact moment. 10k is better then the nothing you are going to get.
While this whole thing is crappy. Taking a high value card, handing it to a 18-59 year old minimum wage employee, telling them an high value of the card for insurance and counting on them to pack it for you looks way shittier then getting a 10k payout.
I feel for you. I really do. But you are the case of everything not to do when selling an expensive card.
Talk with people like @CardsMax on how to do high value business. They have the knowledge you need.
English

@PrattMattx @eBay @UPS Exactly. Will deactivate the cert number so no auction house will sell it. I’m sure the person who stole it didn’t think it thoroughly through. Can’t hide a 1/1 someone will show it off one day.
English

@mccartycards @eBay @UPS It’s worth nothing now bc the individual who stole it will never be able to resell the item on the open market
English

@bentlikebeckam @csg280 @eBay @UPS @natsturner Would be amazing if @PSAcard did something like that.
English

@mccartycards @csg280 @eBay @UPS So I’m not positive but maybe @natsturner could chime in. They should be able to use their api data to see who is checking the cert number. Basically they can use it as a tracking by seeing who is searching for the cert number.
English

@thesam53506501 @eBay @UPS Heaven forbid insurance companies actually have to pay for the insurance you pay for…
English

@MomsProllyMad @eBay @UPS @stockx @FedEx I’m pretty sure the value was displayed as well since it had to go through customs. Absolutely ridiculous. There has to be a better system out there not just based on trust.
English

@mccartycards @eBay @UPS what gets me is the labeling some places use, like @stockx literally puts their name on the return label, screaming "steal me!!", as @FedEx drivers dont even hit the condo buzzer to open the door, just leave that shit outside a huge complex. STUPID!!
English

@bronxbomma718 @eBay @UPS That’s usually the case for me as well…. But there was a massive snowstorm that was hitting the area around Jan 27th and @UPS told me I would be completely covered if
something were to happen… so I insured for 50,000 and let them pack it in front of me.
English

@mccartycards @eBay @UPS Sorry you are going through this. Cards over $20K I hand deliver or pick up.
English

@mccartycards @eBay @UPS Eh, screenshot of the image you posted there might be worth it enough anyway. 🤷🏼♂️ Cool pic! 👍
English

@gotstogoe @eBay @UPS It was shipped from one of their @UPS stores and with a pack and ship guarantee. The issue is the insurance company they use… capital insurance. I’ve been lied to for 4 months
English

@mccartycards @eBay @UPS UPS are the worst ones to fight with on any fucked up packages. They have an elite team to fight you tooth and nail that it’s never their fault or their employees stealing from you. Only parcel service who is just so petty but this is why when you ship you take pics galore
English

@MacDreidel @eBay @UPS @eBay handled it very poorly. Made me refund the entire amount and had to eat fees on top of losing the item already. Made me wait months for a decision that they ultimately knew what it would be.
I’m a top rated seller on their platform with over 15,000 sales and 100% feed
English

@mccartycards @eBay @UPS This isn’t an eBay issue. Who did u insure the delivery by? And if u didn’t sure it it’s your fault
English

@mccartycards @FeuxManning @eBay @UPS Where was it sent to?
Israel, Palestine. Ukraine , Russia,Iran, China or the US?
Don’t be vague now.
English

@BIGNOAH256 I’m down almost 5K just shipping it and having to refund the entire amount from
@eBay . When they paid me, they took fees out …. But when I had to refund… I had to pay the full amount. Also out shipping cost which was $1161
English

My chest hurt just reading that email
James McCarty@mccartycards
$50,000 Michael Jordan Superfractor 1/1 has been stolen from @eBay while @UPS was delivering it internationally. The contents were empty with their pack and ship guarantee (they packed the item). Fully insured. Claim has been filed for 4 months and nothing has been done.
