News is what a chap who doesn’t care much about anything wants to read. And it’s only news until he’s read it. After that it’s dead. — Evelyn Waugh (“Scoop”)

@elonmusk Extreme wokeness is widespread among Millennial women. It’s even more vicious among Gen Z women. Take, for example, the rabid pro-Hamas demonstrations at elite college campuses. The students screaming the loudest and calling for the destruction of Israel were mostly Gen Z women.

@Breaking911 Lordy. Lots of emotion happening there. But, ultimately, it was the horse and the jockey who won the race, not the trainer, whoever she is. Let's not pretend otherwise.

@rolandgarros "Iconic" is one of the most over-used words in the English language, and in sports, in particular. Yes, Marta's back flip was kind of cool to see. But's it's not iconic. See Merriam-Webster's Dictionary.

@Mr_Lincoln Kudos to Golden Tempo and his jockey. Well done. But Secretariat (aka Big Red) is, and will always be, The King of Horse Racing. There is no real competitor. And there never will be. Case closed.

The winning time for Golden Tempo in today’s Kentucky Derby was 2:02.27. Secretariat’s winning time in 1973 was 1:59.4. That’s a difference of 2.87 seconds. That translates to Secretariat beating Golden Tempo by over 17 lengths. Big Red’s record stands after 53 years. Legendary.

Marta Kostyuk after beating Mirra Andreeva to win her 1st WTA 1000 title in Madrid “It feels unbelievable to stand here right now. It took me many years to reach this point. One word I think about right now is consistency. It’s showing up every day, no matter how hard it is. No matter how much you love or hate what you do. I’ve been doing that really well the past years I think. So I’m very proud of myself and my team. Thank you guys so much for being there for me. I think only we know how much we went through and how many times I wanted to give up. You kept me afloat. You pushed me to keep going. That’s why I’m here today.” 🥹 “I wanna thank all my opponents that I played this week. Girls pushed me to the limit. One of the most unbelievable matches for me these weeks.. very special two weeks here. If you look at the stats up until last year I think I was like 2-7 in Madrid. I never thought I’d be able to lift the title here. It was not my favorite tournament for sure 😂 but thank you to the crowd. It was unbelievable this week. You were supporting me so much every day. It wouldn’t be possible without you.” ❤️

I asked Claude: "The U.S. retired its nuclear artillery capability years ago. The M65 "Atomic Annie" was the most famous nuclear cannon, capable of firing a 280mm nuclear shell, and it was used in the only live nuclear artillery test (1953). It was phased out by the early 1960s. "The U.S. also developed nuclear shells for standard 155mm and 8-inch howitzers (the W48 and W33 warheads), which remained in the inventory through the Cold War. These were eliminated under the Presidential Nuclear Initiatives of 1991-1992, when President George H.W. Bush unilaterally withdrew tactical nuclear weapons of that type from service. "So no, the U.S. no longer has nuclear artillery shells in its arsenal."

Assuming this is a valid post on a random social media platform in 2022 (it's probably not), Andreeva was 15-years old when she liked a post about Putin's birthday. That does not mean she supports Russia's invasion of Ukraine. And I see nothing here from Sabalenka, dummy.

Great celebration from Marta Kostyuk as she wins her maiden WTA 1000 Title, but the fact she wouldn't shake 19 year old Mirra Andreevas hand or even acknowledge her in her winning speech, is not a good look for Tennis. Athletes aren't politicians.

@SRuhle So, the demise of a lousy airline is, of course, due entirely to...Donald Trump. Typical third-rate "analysis" from the @TheDemocrats and one of their media allies. This is why @NBCUniversal dumped #MSNBC and started looking for ways to make a profit, instead of losing money.

@samstein It’s even more ridiculous that his predecessor had no idea what was going on in his administration or anywhere in the world. And people like you ignored it. Then, when his cognitive decline became too embarrassing for the political class, “journalists” like you covered it up.

Today, 14,000 Americans are waking up unemployed because Elizabeth Warren, Pete Buttigieg, Lina Khan, and the Biden Administration insisted they were smarter and more knowledgeable about the airline industry than the airline industry itself. Technocrats kill jobs.

This woman shares a vulnerable experience she had at a Costco parking lot. 💔 I waited for this man to load his truck. We chatted, and with the biggest smile, he told me he has terminal lung cancer — less than a month left. His wife just passed. No family here. I asked if I could hug him… we hugged for two full minutes in the parking lot. He said: ‘Every day won’t always be a good day, but it’s never a bad life.’ Be patient. Talk to strangers. You never know what someone’s carrying. Cherish this life. 🥹
