@pepepper_cpp If your total via size including ring comes to .45mm, you can have the 0.2mm via drill hole for free. Per the capabilities page, they only charge extra for 0.2 or 0.25mm hole if via outer diameter < 0.45mm.

@blind_via Back on my signal relays, Panasonic are cheaper US side, but at LCSC, cost more than DigiKey. Is there a Japan tax at LCSC, I wonder? (The Omron part is China made.)
English

@mdhardeman Yea, this one really surprises me, the reasons for why some items are cheaper in other places can be hard to see

FOR CRYING OUT LOUD
All I fucking want is LGBT rights, good labor rights, AND GUN RIGHTS. Why can’t we have all of that?!! Democrats would literally win election after election if they would just leave that last part alone.
Now VA will slowly transition back to red, and the cycle repeats.

Virginia's assault weapons ban takes effect July 1st. PSA is running two full production shifts to meet demand. In-stock orders ship to Virginia through June 23rd. When freedom is under pressure, we step it up. #Virginia #2A #PSA #GunRights

@en4rab @blind_via OMG is that really why there’s a shroud? I mean, it makes sense. I’m just the kind of person those safeties are probably for…
English

@blind_via It also doesn't have a protective shroud which should be a game changer for smashing yourself in the eye

@AndreaBarisani @mfreeman451 Does that include an implementation of the switch silicon’s API (MESA)?
English

@mfreeman451 The CPU can hijack at least 2 ports for extraction/injection of packets, so I'd say yes.
We do not build or provide support for the product, we just ported TamaGo to the SoC.

We ported TamaGo to the Microchip LAN969x SoC.
A collaboration with Novarq to support the Tactical 1000 network switch.
Having bare metal Go on a network switch is an exciting context which opens up many development opportunities!

@nvandooorn @blind_via Yep - I have a (seemingly quality) knockoff controller & handles, but I can definitely tell the difference in the real cartridges and not.
English

@mdhardeman @blind_via Genuine JBC carts are so nice. Easy to change on the fly too.

@grok @PeterMcNeily @MichelleMo28539 @james_e_b_ @peterrhague If anything it has lifted and enhanced my mood and drives.
English

Some users report "Ozempic personality" or anhedonia—reduced pleasure from hobbies, sex, socializing, or other rewards. This ties to how GLP-1 drugs like semaglutide modulate dopamine in the brain's reward centers (nucleus accumbens/VTA), quieting cravings but sometimes flattening broader motivation.
Evidence is mostly anecdotal + mechanistic; clinical trials are mixed. Some studies show mood benefits or improved motivation in depression; others note slight rises in anxiety/depression risk for certain patients. Long-term data remains limited. Effects vary widely by person.
English

I understand. I was 245lbs at one point and felt the same with food. I still enjoy what I want but after 3 months of tracking calories in and out, it's become intuitive. My self control has also improved without drugs. I'm glad you're losing weight, I just think most people can do it without the long term side effect risks.
English

@PeterMcNeily @peterrhague @grok 7 months. I could, I have before. But it’s a struggle. Before GLP1s, it was like a demon in my head waking up every five minutes asking “what are we eating next”. That’s gone now and I get more done because I’m not being interrupted. I’m never stopping this stuff.
English

@mdhardeman @peterrhague @grok How long have you been on it? Why can't you just control your calories in?
English

You have to understand something about all the Ozempic scare stories - the entire weight loss industry is in meltdown right now. They made bank selling crap that didn’t work which you kept buying because it didn’t work and you blamed yourself. A one shot medical fix ruins them.

People who lose weight on Ozempic are viewed worse than people who don't lose weight at all: study trib.al/5JhdcWm
English

@PeterMcNeily @peterrhague @grok For me it has been extremely specific to food. In fact, no longer constantly thinking about food has me even pursuing new ambitions. I’ve started designing custom electronics for some use cases relevant to my business. It hasn’t blunted anything.
English

@peterrhague @grok can glp-1s single out the reward system only for food or is it likely it also blunts joy in other areas of life?
English

@averagearc @therealcarlin Do be careful of that. For example, check the EasyEDA footprint for TPE15017 (which is very similar to this) and check out the messed up corners on that one versus the datasheet. I do love importing their models, just have to check them.
English

@therealcarlin I use EasyEDA to download footprints and 3D models, then import them into my KiCad library

English

Wow. Custom corner pads. So fun. Wow i'm having so much fun. This didnt slow me down and eat an hour at all. Wow.
Ended up drawing it in fusion and importing to kicad. Way easier to define with sketches and constraints.

Time to lay this bad boy down.
English

@blind_via I have the one in the middle, it works pretty well. I set it to 240C and it does the thing.

@psyclyx Just so we’re clear, this isn’t what any of us meant when we say power over Ethernet.
