I say “retroactive” means going back and changing the old law, whereas law is “retrospective” if it merely looks back at old situations but imposes a present or future charge.

Hardly independent when Jim Harra, CEO HMRC, emails Amyas Morse on 12/12/19 to set out the scope. He also asked for only enough to be done to make it look independent

@EBCheshire @GabrielleO61890 @LCAG_2019 @loanchargeAPPG Sadly not that easy for some, HMRC issue APN's which demand immediate payment otherwise steps are taken to put charges on properties & deductions direct from salary/pensions. This is what makes the loan charge especially/unecessessarily punative. Denied access to legal redress.

@itcontracting It was always clear ray mccann’s sham review would be biased and unfair 800 settlements out of 50,000 cases demonstrates victims will not settle on unfair terms Stand strong victims DO NOT SETTLE!!!!!!!!!!! At least 11 people have taken their own lives. We want an inquiry

When the APPG met on 2nd December 2025 to discuss the McCann Review the only people present were from the two groups who'd promoted & sold non-compliance, but did LCAG & WTT admit their complicity? LCAG control the APPG Twitter account. LCAG have brought the APPG into disrepute.
