@DefenceBrat @kvs_87 People have started driving “wrong side”on the one-way roads in Viman Nagar. There was some discipline at the beginning when there were police wardens stationed at the entry/exit points but now people are blatantly flouting the rules. No fear of law.
English

@kvs_87 Let only people from Viman Nagar who actually understand the one way roads comment here. Others can refrain for now.
English

Fortunately escaped a Fortuner in Viman Nagar today ; wrong side, blind turn, zero chill.
Pune’s new equation:
Bigger car = Smaller civic sense.
We became rich faster than we could become responsible.
Drive like you own the road, not like you own the city. 🚗💨
@PuneCityTraffic will you take some action?

A few days ago, I was waiting for my luggage at Mumbai airport when I saw someone who looked very familiar. I couldn't place him, and I finally went up and introduced myself and said that he looked very familiar, where could I have possibly met him?
And he looked equally blank, and then politely replied that it was possibly in Rocket Boys or Paatal Lok.
I then figured it was Ishwak Singh, who played Imran Ansari, the gentle cop who made it to the IPS and was such an essential part of Hathiram's narrative in Paatal Lok.
And I just thought that to create a character so well defined that I actually mistook him for someone I had met showed how wonderfully that series was written, directed and acted.
Thanks @IshwakSingh, Sudip Sharma, @prosit_roy, Avinash Arun and the entire team for making a story that for me truly came to life

Today is the darkest day of my life.
My beloved son, Agnivesh, left us far too soon. He was just 49 years old, healthy, full of life, and dreams. Following a skiing accident in the US, he was recovering well in Mount Sinai Hospital, New York. We believed the worst was behind us. But fate had other plans, and a sudden cardiac arrest snatched our son away from us.
No words can describe the pain of a parent who must bid goodbye to his child. A son is not meant to leave before his father. This loss has shattered us in ways we are still trying to comprehend.
I still remember the day Agni was born in Patna on 3 June, 1976. From a middle-class Bihari family, he grew into a man of strength, compassion, and purpose. The light of his mother’s life, a protective brother, a loyal friend, and a gentle soul who touched everyone he met.
Agnivesh was many things - a sportsman, a musician, a leader. He studied at Mayo College, Ajmer, went on to set up one of the finest companies Fujeirah Gold, became Chairman of Hindustan Zinc, and earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike. Yet, beyond all titles and achievements, he remained simple, warm, and deeply human.
To me, he was not just my son. He was my friend. My pride. My world.
Kiran and I are broken. And yet, in our grief, we remind ourselves that the thousands of young people who work across Vedanta are also our children.
Agnivesh believed deeply in building a self-reliant India. He would often say, “Papa, we lack nothing as a nation. Why should we ever be behind?”
We shared a dream to ensure that no child sleeps hungry, no child is denied education, every woman stands on her own feet, and every young Indian has meaningful work. I had promised Agni that more than 75% of what we earn would be given back to society.
Today, I renew that promise and resolve to live an even simpler life.
There was so much life ahead of him. So many dreams yet to be lived. His absence leaves a void for his family and friends. We thank all his friends, colleagues and well-wishers for always being there for him.
Beta, you will live on in our hearts, in our work, and in every life you touched.
I do not know how to walk this path without you, but I will try carrying your light forward.

'Road Rage' is a serious and growing problem on Pune roads (and indeed, across the country). Our city and highway roads are in some kind of a 'state of (traffic) lawlessness'!
Lack of adequate traffic police presence, poor enforcement and lack of any other strong deterrence results in rash driving, blatant traffic rules violation and worse... violence against other drivers.
Roads, intersections where traffic was previously well managed (e.g. Senapati Bapat Road) and rules followed, have descended into chaos as the traffic police personnel have disappeared. CCTV based fines (if they are happening?) have no deterrence impact.
Clearly as our cities, roads and number of vehicles have grown... the traffic police strength hasn't kept pace.
This needs urgent attention in Pune, in Maharashtra, and in India!

#Pune Once again, peak Sunday evening traffic at 630 - 7 pm on FC Road... large number of double parked cars creating traffic issues.
This is one of the busiest times at one of busiest roads in Pune City. And yet, no traffic police presence - penalising, enforcing against double parked cars. Are the CCTV cameras functional for traffic enforcement? Any challans issued for double parking? Oneway violations?

@ShoneeKapoor Unnecessary moral policing. The doctors are doing nothing wrong. Also, those slamming them have either never stayed in a hostel or have a very sad life. People suddenly become saints on social media.
English

👉“When doctors forget discipline, a hostel turns into a nightclub — and dignity dies in the noise.”
📰A shocking scene in Dehradun’s Medical College PG hostel — where future doctors turned the hostel into a late-night rave.
Loud music, half-naked dancing, chaos, and open defiance when police arrived.
Yes, these were doctors-in-training — abusing the uniform and insulting the profession.
The video went viral, forcing the administration to step in.
The doctor whose room hosted the party has been evicted from the hostel and fined ₹10,000.
A detailed report has been sent to Health Secretary R. Rajesh Kumar, and more actions are on the way.
This isn’t a “youthful mistake.”
This is arrogance, entitlement, and a complete disgrace to the medical profession.
We fight for men’s rights — but we do not defend stupidity, misconduct, or abuse of authority.
Accountability must be equal for all.
Respect for the profession comes first.

@nachiket1982 @wheeliej Religious places are full of scamsters. All
trying to fleece you in the name of God.
English

@wheeliej I happened to visit a religious place a couple of weeks ago. It was a temple amongst the 12 Jyotirlinga. The entire vicinity was strewn with garbage, waste bottles etc. if this is how we treat our revered places, can't even imagine other places of interest.
English

With all due respect, you are completely wrong on this.
To seriously attract tourists, we need to do a lot more than blow the trumpet of being an 8000 year old culture.
1. We have horrendous public infrastructure, and yet massively overpriced domestic flights & hotels.
2. Law & order in most parts of the country is a big question mark.
3. Our cities are in a perpetual state of chaos and traffic is a mess.
4. And above all we need to teach 1.5 billion people some basic civic sense.
Now tell me, do u still feel it's the lowest hanging fruit?
