A @politico bombshell has revealed that the Biden-Harris administration encouraged Israel to invade Lebanon - despite the Democrats’ claim that @KamalaHarris is “working tirelessly for a ceasefire”.
We do not consent to be dragged into WWIII for @netanyahu's genocidal land grab!

The @LemkinInstitute reminds the world that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu @IsraeliPM is a genocidaire.
Israel is a genocidal state supported by a genocidal society.
This means that the genocidal killing of Palestinian and now Lebanese people will continue to spread. It will not stop on its own.
The world has a responsibility to protect life, including Arab life. Walking out of Netanyahu’s speech at the @UN is not enough. There must be action.
The USA @POTUS is particularly to blame for this horrific state of affairs. It must act immediately and effectively to stop Israel. And it must stop with the pretense. The world knows exactly what is going on.

#Beyrouth #Liban

Today is very hard.
The last two weeks have been difficult.
The last 12 months have been excruciating.
The loss is huge.
But the Israelis and Americans are wrong to take a victory lap.
They are creating a region and a world full of people who hate them and will never stop resisting the most violent military empire in history. They are wrong to think there won't be huge consequences that are disastrous not just for their adversaries but for them as well in the region and beyond.

In killing Nasrallah, Israel chose to open the gates of hell. We'll all pay the price:
Hezbollah has confirmed that its longtime leader, Hassan Nasrallah, was among the hundreds of Lebanese killed in Israel’s massive bombardment of a suburb of Beirut last night.
Israel's decision to assassinate Nasrallah, using some of the enormous bunker-busting bombs the United States has been arming it with, is beyond foolhardy. It is outright deranged. Israel has removed – and knows it has removed – a moderating influence on Hezbollah.
Israel’s action will achieve nothing apart from teaching his successor, and leaders of other groups and countries labelled as terrorist by western governments, several lessons:
* That Israel, and the West standing squarely behind it, do not play by any known rules of engagement, and that their opponents must do likewise. The current restraint from Hezbollah that has been so baffling western pundits will become a thing of the past.
* That Israel is not interested in compromise, only escalation, and that this is a fight to death – not just against Israel but against the West that sponsors Israel.
* That Israel's ideological extremism – its Jewish supremacism, and its endless craving for Lebensraum – must be met with even greater Shia-inspired extremism.
Decades of western terrorism in the Middle East unleashed a Sunni nihilism embodied first in al-Qaeda and then in ISIS.
Now, the West, via Israel, is fomenting for the Shia resistance its own ISIS moment. The moderates in what the West dubs “terrorist organisations” have once again lost the argument. Why? Because the US imperial project known as “the West” has once again demonstrated it will not compromise. It demands full-spectrum, global dominance – nothing less.
Israel may make very short tactical gains in killing Nasrallah. But we will all soon feel the whirlwind.
When that whirlwind comes, the job of our politicians and media will be to ensure we make no connection between this moment of savagery and insanity from us and the blowback.
The role of western establishments will be to cry victim, to insist “They hate us for our freedoms”, for our civilisational superiority, because “they” are simply barbarians.
But what comes next, as with what came before, will be entirely predictable. Violence doesn't beget calm, it begets more violence. Israel knows that. Our leaders know that. But they opened the gates of hell anyway.
(Disclaimer: Nothing in this post, in line with Section 12 of the UK Terrorism Act, in any way indicates, or should be seen to be encouraging, support for any group designated as a terrorist organisation by the British government.)

The more Israel expands its war across the Middle East, the more the western media intensifies its war on our minds.
Establishment media outlets like the BBC are weaponising the language of their reporting against audiences no less effectively than Israel weaponised primitive pieces of technology against the people of Lebanon.
Thousands of Lebanese were maimed by exploding pagers and walkie-talkies last week. Likewise, the media coverage is mangling the ability of western publics to understand how and why Israel is dangerously stoking fires across the region.
Words like "audacious", "escalation" and "targets" have become tools to conceal meaning, not to illuminate – and for good reason. Because Israel’s actions are so obviously criminal, so obviously horrifying, so obviously genocidal. Language becomes a weapon to hide the truth.
The media chorus goes like this: Israel is attacking Lebanon to stop Hezbollah rocket fire and allow the residents of Israel’s most northerly communities to return home. Or in the blunter, Orwellian language of Israeli officials framing this horror show: Israel must "escalate to de-escalate".
Lebanese civilians are paying the heaviest price: some 550 of them were killed in the first day of Israel’s bombing campaign alone. Many tens of thousands have been driven – ethnically cleansed – from the territory of south Lebanon.
Why? Because, says Israel, Hezbollah has hidden its cache of rockets in their homes. Those homes must therefore be destroyed. Strangely, Hezbollah seems to have forgotten that it has extensive rocky terrain across south Lebanon where it could more safely and wisely hide its arsenal.
If this story sounds familiar, that’s because it is. It is the same script used to justify the slaughter in Gaza. Then, the media mindlessly reheated Israeli talking points about Israel destroying Gaza to "eliminate Hamas".
Some 2.3 million Palestinians needed to be forced out of their homes for their own safety, even as Israel killed them in those very "safe zones".
Then, as now, the media subjected us to Israeli CGI-generated propaganda videos of underground "control and command centres" supposedly under hospitals and other vital infrastructure Israel wanted destroyed.
This time the media are uncritically broadcasting no less ridiculous Israeli propaganda videos of Hezbollah rockets stashed in Lebanese living rooms.
